I was looking for a place convenient to the theater and this fits the bill. The food was standard but I was really looking for convenience and easy in/out. I had a chicken pot pie - not something I usually order - but it was good. My nephew had a hot dog which was huge but good according to him! Tables close together but typical NYC.
Great pot pie! No problem getting out on time for the show, but arrived at 6:30. Sightly slow service but did not press them for time.
Brooklyn Diner has become my 'go to' spot for entertaining out of towners for breakfast. It is handy to mid-town and transportation - and everyone needs to eat breakfast. Then they have the rest of the day to do their New York thing. Excellent varied breakfast menu that can suit anyone's taste. Attractively functional though not elegant. Terrific service...
We had lunch at the Brooklyn Diner- Time Square, this was our first time to dine at this location. We had noon time reservations and were promptly greeted and seated, the host was extremely friendly, made a great 1st impression to the restaurant. There were 3 in my party and we all had the Brooklyn Burger and hand-cut fries, great choice! We sat in a booth, which gives you the feel of sitting in a dining car. During a weekend in NYC, had brunch/lunch at the Diner. Great selections and freshness in food. The highlight was our waiter, Steve. He was terrific! I tend to "nurse" my coffee and instead of "topping it off" with more coffee, he brought me a fresh cup of coffee, without me even asking for it. He was a real pleasure to have as our server.
Service slow. Food okay. Hard to talk due to how close the tables are together
You definitely need reservations if you are going there during traditional meal times. The place is popular and located in a great spot for Theater and Times Square activities. The food is a little upscale from a typical diner and there is a bar. The only bad thing is they do not serve all day breakfast like NJ diners. The chicken pot pie keeps me coming back. Best ever. I rarely look at the menu! Wonderful desserts
The hot pastrami melted in your mouth...the best! The cheesecake was outstanding (they even served champagne (on the house) with dessert. Wonderful!
