The place was nice the waiter was nice but I ordered the Cheeseburger and French Fries and Orange Soda that was in a bottle and the Flies kept buzzing around my food. I waited for 5 minutes in the front because was not there to seat me at a table.
Food was bland, menu was limited and not really appitizing - way over priced for what we ordered. Not going back.
They advertise that their pastrami was the best and made fresh each day. For $20, it was the worst sandwich we ever had. The pastrami was all fat and gristle and inedible. The wait staff could care less.
We ordered their 15-bite hot dog. It came without the Juniper sauerkraut and when we asked the server IF they were out of it, she told us that the dish does not have that included. Really? I have dine in this join for the past 15 years and this is the first time I was told that. Needless to say, they rushed to bring us the sauerkraut. Sad part is, it’s on the menu. I mean... what? This location (Times Sq) is going downhill.
Unpleasant smell and cleanliness was questionable. We were in a rush so couldn’t go anyplace else last minute. The service was excellent and food was decent however restaurant is mediocre at best.
Calling this a diner is deceptive. It’s more like an Applebee’s, if that’s what you like. My friends made the reservation with the idea that someone with food restrictions would have plenty to choose from. Very disappointing.
We had reservation for 3 for breakfast at 9:00am. Requested for “business.” Seated in the back next to a family with very noisy children. Service was terrible. We had to ask for coffee, water, a third napkin.
Waitress was great. Cobb salad was disappointing: chicken was dry, bacon was reheated a few times.
Weirdly several items were missing from my dish, which I didn’t notice right away. I was comped for the plate, but would have preferred to have the complete meal together. Also was seated at a very cold booth and when I asked to be moved, the waiter just suggested I move to the other side of the booth (presumedly so the person I was dining with could be cold instead). He offered no alternative so I had to go back to the front to the maitre d to ask to be moved. Bizarre experience. I might be done w Bklyn Diner, which is a bu... read more
