I was really looking forward to breakfast, but sadly my scrambled eggs were dry, and the bagel hard. I definitely think my meal was overpriced, and sadly I would not be keen to return any time soon.
Usually we love the Brooklyn Diner. However, last night the food was a disappointment. I placed my order & when it came to the table it was wrong. I ordered a bacon burger( no cheese!), medium rare (I even told the waiter it should be rare enough to walk off the plate). When I got it, it was a bacon cheeseburger. They took it back & remade my order. This time, the burger was cheeseless, but overcooked & dry, not to mention that the fries & onion rings were cold. I didn't send it back again because I didn't want my husband to... read more
A simple breakfast for 2 adults (eggs) and 2 children (pancakes) almost $100! Even by NYC standards outrageous. Especially did not like having no choice but polenta with tomato sauce w/ eggs. Food was average - served just warm rather than hot. Staff is friendly and fast but quick turnover not customer service seems to be the key. This is just not the best place for breakfast and we would not return.
Not a bad place. It's Times Square so it's crowded and noisy. Food is good. Service was inattentive and slow, but it also seemed understaffed for the number of guests. You are better off here than at one of the chains, but it's a tourist eatery with tourist prices.
Good food and service, but the prices are outrageous
We were vert disappointed with the food. My turkey sandwhich was very dry and the french fries were cold and had to be sent back. My husband wanted a tuna melt and it came without the cheese and had to be sent back. It was empty and 5 oclock and they couldn't get it right. Price is high but it is New York and you expect that. Portions were not ample for the price. We are use to the big juicy sandwhichs of the Carnegie Deli and it was not anywhere near as good. We won't return. Ellen Silow
Unless you just feel like throwing money away (and a lot of it), don't go to the Brooklyn Diner. The food is extremely over priced, and was not good at all, except for desert! A real tourist trap!!! Service was extremely slow, and the appetizers were brought out at the same time with the entrees.
Small portions and high prices. We asked to share a salad and the waiter was NOT happy. We shared anyway and we hardly had enough for eat. Wold not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
They don't serve breakfast after 11am. This is not a traditional diner despite its name. Way too expensive ($12 for soup?!).
