I haven’t been to this location in decades, but it was so kitschy. I ordered my usual — The Perfect Plate w/ Grilled Salmon and, as usual, it was perfect. I think the portions are slightly more generous at the Times Square location but the servers in both locations are always really friendly and professional. My only complaint is the cost. It’s so expensive! For my ‘salad entree,’ and a cup of coffee…all in, for ONE PERSON, I paid $50. I do think they could make some adjustments…especially if the portions are meager. Brooklyn Diner is very convenient when we have Carnegie Hall tickets. I tried the hanger steak. It was cooked as I asked, but rather tough. You can't go wrong with the chicken pot pie if they haven't run out. The service was particularly good. It wasn't too busy, so the noise level was tolerable. It can become deafening.

A halfblock from our hotel - perfect for breakfast before heading for the airport. It's a sweet little diner at 7th Ave. and 57th St. It did get pretty noisy inside. We had six people in our party and so we had a variety of items - one of my only complaints was that the yolks in the poached eggs that came with my Eggs Benedict didn't ooze - they were hard cooked. Another was the fried potatoes - large cubes of fried potato - I would have been happier with hash browns or home fries.
Great diner in the heart of New York with tasty, high quality food. Great service to top it off!
