My husband and I stumbled across this diner in Dec 2021. We brought the kids to NYC this Christmas (2023) and had to bring them here. Guy is amazing and it’s evident how much he cares about people. It makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time
The hummus was fantastic. Best I’ve ever had, with dill and veggies. And the matzoh ball soup was a meal in itself. Lots of chicken. I couldn’t finish it!
Beautiful vintage diner, delicious food and warm service, we had an unforgettable New York moment with my family
We had breakfast here to kick off my husband’s birthday. The service was excellent the food great. We looked forward to having their home made whipped cream hut were told because it’s such a busy season (Christmas), they only had the store bought. We prefer the Times Square location. Otherwise, overall great.
I very much used to love coming to NYC and having a chicken potpie at the Brooklyn Dinner. My most recent trip there was a disappointment. The crust wasn't the same. It was more of a phyllo dough than a pie crust. The heart of the pie was rather bland. Some seasoning would have been nice say salt, pepper, thyme, sage, and cayenne. And the chicken was on the dry side. One of my favorite dishes has been altered and I'm afraid not for the better. After 10 or more trips to the diner I'm not sure I'll return. I'm sad really.
Always a great time with good food and service. The only thing was that we were sat in a tight space instead of a booth in a more comfortable area. But we really do like to dine there for breakfast.
Love this place, ate there for the first time last year, it is our goto for Carnegie events! Last night we were entertained by The Satin Dolls, adorable with beautiful voices. See you next time!
I had the omelette that came with a bagel and fried polenta. The food was excellent but was expensive for what you get.
Great experience - wonderful service. Will be back
