Get directionsDO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!! They killed my Maltese and Yorkie. So upsetting... and gave me a bill for almost 10,000. So basically I paid them to kill my baby. I hate this hospital. I had been going there for 12 years for my 4 dogs, spending at the very least $100,000 and now I have 2 left. They both died there from misdiagnosis. I don't know what's is going on there lately, but it's not good!! I will never ever go to Calusa again...even in an emergency!
I took my dog there from another animal hospital who said he needed fluids. They couldnt do it. So I found Calusa. They were very nice on the phone and told me to come immediately. I got there and they gave me 3 proposals to pay then. They would give fluids and run a special blood test. Very business like. So I called to find out how he was and was scheduled to pick him up in the morning. The woman vet who saw me when I got there was very nice. The man vet who saw me basically said well we are not his vet so leave. Not would... read more
Although I'm sure the veterinarians are great, the front desk staff is rude and obnoxious. I went in this morning to see if I could get a nail clip for my dog (he's a 14 year old 4lb. Chihuahua with no teeth). The woman looked up my account then told me they would need vaccine records first. The issue wasn't the required records, it was her attitude. I brought up the fact that he was just in for his bum leg; a $400 visit and her response..... "It was an e-mer-gen-cy". She should not be working as a first point of contact. S... read more
They do not have board certified veterinarians and misdiagnose often. I brought my dog in as she was having trouble breathing and they diagnosed her with congestive heart failure but failed to treat the disease properly. They also failed to diagnose a secondary lung disease! Took me for a LOT of money which they collect up front! Send her home with meds. We were back there 2 other times until I finally took her to a specialty Vet hospital. By that time she was very very sick and even after being put on a ventilator she could... read more
The worst experience of my life. Took my sick (actually dying) dog to them and they wouldn't begin treatment until I paid $8300+. Yes. You read that right. When they did the surgery they told me that my dog most likely had lymphoma and would probably only live a few weeks and recommended euthanasia. I have since learned that chemo therapy could have saved my dog's life and reversed much of the issues he had. I killed my dog (and probably didn't have to!!!!) and they still charged me almost $6000 and didn't even do the surger... read more
My dog was ill, so they took x-rays that clearly showed him on the verge of heart failure, yet they sent him home. My cardiologist told me to never take them there again! One star is too much.
I took my puggle here because she was having trouble breathing. First estimate was over $1,000. I compared their prices to another vet and they were way overcharging me on X-rays. Then I got an estimate for almost $4,000 to keep her overnight. We took her off of oxygen and quickly transported her to Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists. Their estimate for 4 day stay is $2,000. Sorry not paying Boca prices. Never going back there again.
I had some issues. I would not trust them to save my dogs life! They are slow and very pricy. They make you sign a waiver concerning their responsibility turning it over to your primary vet. They keep charging you for return visits for same issues. They did not show real concern. I felt they were all about the money.

I have never written a bad review before, especially one about veterinary service. I always give the benefit of the doubt to animal hospitals even if I felt I may have been over charged, because in the end they helped my baby, but Calusa Veteranary Center you should be ashamed of yourself... I brought Bear in for rapid eye movement, head tilted to the side, and could not walk straight. They treated him for an ear infection and placed him in an oxygen tank overnight... I was charged over $1,500 for this. Keep in mind I've had... read more
