Get directionsI was a client for 28 years. My trust was implicit. Approximately 3-4 yrs ago my vet became Gov Cuomo and certainly did not have any regard for the Me Too Movement. I became petrified to go there but I knew of another wonderful vet there who often took care of my poodles who were littermates. They were both on a compounded form of heartworm prevention because they got sick from regular Heartguard. The perscription was renewed in April and I picked it up at Linton Pharmacy. I was hesitant to give it to them so in April and Ma... read more
If I could give then a minus rating I would! A few years back, my daughter's large cat developed trouble urinating, got lethargic enough that I rushed him over to Calusa at around 10PM. After waiting in an empty. but beautiful waiting room, we were seen. All they did was to insert a catheter! Let her cat lay in a cage for $1,000./per nite! I visited each day to see how he was doing and there was nothing improving in his health!!!! After paying the $4,000!!!! I dropped him off at TLC Animal Hospital at 10 PM one nite...at th... read more

i Have never written a review in my life, much less a bad one but I am now. Some of the front office staff, and vet techs are great but other than that, no. My dog had a severe problem on his butt that they claimed they looked at and clearly did not Considering I had to bring him elsewhere and they resolved it right Away. Then, my other dog hurt her leg and we brought her in, they did not do an X-ray, mri, nothing. They looked at her for 2 minutes and gave her medicine and sent her on her way. 2 weeks later, still limping a... read more

We just had an upsetting experience at Calusa Veterinary clinic. We took our Goldendoodle puppy there this morning for constipation and vomiting. The receptionist was extremely unprofessional and rude at check-in. We sat there for 20 minutes without any acknowledgement. The triage nurse never came up after being paged. We told the front desk tech we were heading somewhere else and she was aloof about that. On our way to another vet, we got a call asking us to come back. I told her "NO THANKS!".

If you have and emergency and love your pet DO NOT take them to Calusa. We took our 3 year old Jack Russell who was bleeding out of her rear end and after 3 hours of sitting around in the lobby waiting for the doctor to come out to give us a prognosis all we got was a $5k estimate while the dog was sitting in a cage dying. After receiving this outrageous estimate we made a decision to go somewhere else. In top of waiting all this time for NOTHING we get a bill for $120 for them doing absolutely nothing. It's sad to see how t... read more

Wow I'm glad I read the reviews. My mother is in the hospital and I'm looking to board her dog. She told me she went in here a few years ago (WAY before the supply chain shortage which it seems they are trying to blame their overpriced services on) and when she was given an estimate, she was shocked and said that's a little over the top and apparently the response she got from some man ( not sure if it was the owner or manager) was well..you get what you pay for. ( very rude). I thought I would pull up the reviews to see i... read more

I am giving them a 1 star because as many other reviews say, they are more expensive than my doctors. I have never in my life been charged the kind of money they charge me here.. I won't be going back. They have a reputation for price gouging customers and my neighbor actually stopped coming here because of it as well. Your service is standard and does not in anyway reflect the prices you charge. This is not the way to build a lasting relationship with clients. I had to go through our vet at home to call in drops for our pup... read more

First I would like to say that I was very happy with the Dentist, Javier Fuentes, who travels to several vet offices and I was reasonably happy with my dog's primary care vet, Dr. Crane but this is where it ends. My 12 year old dog went to Caluso twice for emergency care. The first time, both times was for ingestion of a foreign body (plastic plus other junk). The first time, the x-ray showed a belly full of foreign material. They were not interested in seeing what she had vomited at home and refused to induce vomiting s... read more

Hi Susan, Thank you for your feedback. The essence of our values and who we are start with patient-centric, compassionate care, and best-in-class service, so hearing you felt otherwise is very upsetting to us. In the case of your dog: at your first visit, our goal was to avoid causing any damage to the esophagus which would have been triggered by inducing vomiting with the hard, plastic pieces. Additionally, multiple surgeries for the same issue causes scar tissue build-up, which hinders future surgery and significantly ... read more
Worst place ever. The only reason you bring your animal there is to die. I just had my friend bring my Frenchy there. I am a doctor in critical care. The way they treated him was ridiculous they gave him medication as if he was in heart failure when he had a seizure. And the vet kept interrupting me I was so rude and then hung up the phone on me and refused to give me information. The only reason we went there is it was the only thing open. In the future I'll take care of my animals on my own. They don't care about you or... read more

Hi Candace, Thank you for your feedback. The essence of our values and who we are start with patient-centric, compassionate care, and best-in-class service. We're sorry to hear you felt we didn't meet these standards for this pet's care. Our understanding of the situation is that you are not the current owner on record for the pet you're referring to, and while we appreciate your giving history on the patient to us, our doctors prefer to speak only with the current owner about on-going care, to avoid missed details and mi... read more
