This place lied to me to get me to bring my dog in for an emergency visit. Then when I got there they recommended an X-ray which not what they said they would have to do when I called them. Then after the X-ray they admitted there is nothing they could do anyway and my dog would likely be fine. So she was fine from the start and they basically scared me so I would bring her and pay them a ton of $$. Scammy and gouging people because they love their pets.

DO NOT GO HERE. These people only care about your money!!!! My dog was in labor having a hard time delivering her second and last baby (had been over 5 hours) They took her away and the first baby and kept her for about an hour, "examining" her. They didn't even give her water... and couldn't figure how to make the baby latch to momma. Hard NO for emergency servives at this place. This place does overkill just to run up bills. We brought our cat in for minor issue because our daughter was concerned. It was supposed to be $500 dollars and we could pick her up in a couple hours later in the evening. It ended up being close to $2000 after they kept extending the time she needed to be there. disgusting staff! My daughter had her 14 year old friend babysitting her kitten while we were out of town. The kitten became very sick. Her 14 year old friend was so upset basically watching this kitten die she did what she believed was the right thing to do and brought her here. Brought my cat there in what I thought was an emergency. Staff was great however I feel Like they took advantage of the situation. When one of the staff took me in the room to go over the bill, nothing was explained to me. They just asked " are you ok with it". I was so upset about my cat I just said yes. After reading the menu of services at Calusa Vet including diagnostic care and specialty care we scheduled an appointment for our dog when our vet suggested we seek specialty care as our dog was not responding to conventional care for kennel cough. We explained symptoms and we explained appointment not an emergency. On 9/24/22 we saw Dr. Stetzer who was excellent, compassionate, ordered labs and x-rays and told us they would figure out what was going on with our dog and take care of him. They essentially scammed me out of $1800 and broke the law. My dog was in an urgent situation and was struggling to breath after playing in the middle of the day. I brought him to Calusa and they "intubated and sedated him". They also told me he had a cyst on his tongue which they drained. I handed them my dog in a very urgent situation, and all they told me was that he was intubated and sedated and continued to express uncertainty about his life.
