Facility is very nice. Sometimes need to remind them to do [name removed ]'s laundry. I wish they would trust me with the door code for memory care.
Staff is friendly and efficient. Daily activities are the same and do not vary. Could use some imagination in finding new things to keep people interested. Facility is clean and taken care of. Visitor parking is limited and street parking is limited due to surrounding apartments. Restaurant service is attentive and responds to individual requests.
It's difficult to say whether Carmel is better then other places. They seemed to be attentive to my mother's needs. I think a larger common area would be nice, but do to the condition of most residents in this part of the facility, unnecessary. The care givers were a pleasure, and communicated effectively.
I met with an administrator at Carmel Village. Within a few minutes, we realized that assisted living was not what I was looking for my mother. I did not tour the facility. She was, however, helpful in recommending an independent living apartment complex just a few blocks away. Palm Island Apartments was a good choice.
I thought that the rooms were a little small for me. Some of my furniture is large and I don’t think it would accommodate. I am also not that crazy about carpet. However, the ladies that took us through was very pleasant and informative and did her best to convince us that this was a place for me, but I don’t think it is. I appreciate the fact that she was so nice.
Them not following through thru on things that they told us they would do, played a big roe in my score. I feel we need to give them longer for everyone to adjust but I would recommend.
We would give them a 4.5. What we like the most about the community is that it is a nice facility with numerous staff that are present. The service has been good and the staff are adaptable to changing needs. Yes we would recommend Carmel Village to other families based on the experience
Overall experience: the caregivers work hard to care for patients, but it's sometimes hard to communicate. Example: 2 caregivers prepared my wife to be fed her lunch. Wife complained about pain in shoulder and a meds distributor was called for. Wife has Parkinson’s. An assessment revealed no clear action to be taken. Then they left without saying anything. After waiting l was told the caregivers were serving lunch. Bringing in resources to deal with physical therapy, nurse assessments, and some activities rates 5.
Everyone was super friendly and inclusive; staff and residents! Would recommend.
