We would give them a 4.5. What we like the most about the community is that it is a nice facility with numerous staff that are present. The service has been good and the staff are adaptable to changing needs. Yes we would recommend Carmel Village to other families based on the experience

Overall experience: the caregivers work hard to care for patients, but it's sometimes hard to communicate. Example: 2 caregivers prepared my wife to be fed her lunch. Wife complained about pain in shoulder and a meds distributor was called for. Wife has Parkinson’s. An assessment revealed no clear action to be taken. Then they left without saying anything. After waiting l was told the caregivers were serving lunch. Bringing in resources to deal with physical therapy, nurse assessments, and some activities rates 5.

Everyone was super friendly and inclusive; staff and residents! Would recommend.

Business response:

Your 5-star review made our day! Our residents and families are at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for recognizing our efforts, it means the world to our team.

The staff is caring and concerned. They check on her twice a day and call when she is not feeling well. The med tech handles all of her prescriptions and gives them to her as prescribed. She is very happy with the food.

We've been pleased with the facility and the caregiver staff support. My mom unfortunately is now bed bound so unfortunately she's not able to enjoy the beautiful grounds/ courtyard or the regularly scheduled activities and events they hold. Food quality is good with flexibility for time of day to preferred for meals. Med management has been very good. The facility is very good, clean and well maintained for the price we pay but it is an older facility so may not appear a nice and new as other higher priced facilities. All i... read more

Facility is clean and new, well furnished, bright with nice outdoor patios/gardens. Management has been so helpful, always positive, responds asap. Staff is friendly and competent. Very nice to our residents. The care, service and facilities are great for the price. Pricing is favorable+ to other similar homes.

My 94 year old Mom was resistant to leaving her residence where she had lived by herself for 25 years. We set her up at Carmel Village and she is thriving. She is eating better and getting more exercise. She agrees that this was the right move for her.

I would tell a friend, that it is great. The average age is definitely in the 80's. My father in law was younger but suffering from Parkinson's so he didn't socialize much. The staff is extremely friendly, trustworthy and attentive. He received excellent care which allowed for us to have peace of mind.
