Very nice property. Average pricing. Residents seemed to be kept busy. Nice staff

The facility is nice. The food is okay. The staff are very friendly but they are under staffed. My wife is disabled and sometimes she has to wait up to thirty minutes to get help. They Are friendly but need more caregivers, especially during the morning hours.

Memory care was dated. Air conditioning unit was an issue as my Dad didn't know how to use. The room was hot and stuffy in the afternoon. Staff was good, dealing with difficult combative behavior from my Dad. The entire experience was heartbreaking and the management was not as sympathetic. Hospice team was most helpful.

[name removed] is amazing! Staff was great, clean facilities, fun activities. I would just say, make sure the lead/head of nursing staff meets your resident and make sure all needs are made known. Felt like I did more caregiving after my step-dad moved in. Which is probably common with such a big change.

My friend [name removed] , who has Alzheimer's, is doing fine at Carmel Village. She's not real happy there, but it has nothing to do with the facility, just the disease. She only wants to live with family or friends. There are 3 of us who visit her every week and have been friends for over 50 years. She appears to be getting good care and she enjoys the meals with the other folks and loves it when there is something musical going on. I've been to a couple of concerts and they were great! The place looks kind of old and ding... read more

She is at Carmel Village in Fountain Valley and loves it. Great overall feeling. They clean her room every week . The common area always nice. Mom loves the staff team. They get her to her appointments... And taken her to ER when needed. Mom has limited taste and a vegetarian. Unfortunately she cannot participate in the activities at this time

Memory care rooms are older, air conditioning had to be put on manually. My Dad was not capable of asking. Room temperature was very warm when afternoon sun came. I would have liked more communication with staff at move in. Had no knowledge of daily schedule/expectations. My Dad had end of life dementia. I expected staff to handle this. Hospice communicated symptoms more clearly. My Dad was at Carmel Village for only one month. This was the most difficult experience I've had since leaving my children at daycare for the first... read more

Clean facilities, great social activities, food seemed good! My Dad really liked his apartment ! Caregivers are awesome, but in my opinion may be overworked. I think my Dad just needed a little bit more attention/care but not necessarily memory care. He had a series of falls which led to his moving to another facility better suited to his needs. Overall, great place for more independent seniors.

Carmel Village is a good value for the quality of care being received by my mother. You could get better, but the cost would be much higher. We would recommend this community to other families, in my opinion they have been good overall.
