Amazing selection of boots. If you don't find a pair here, you don't really want boots. Great selection of other western wear as well. I'd give this a 5 star review except for a salesperson (Jim D.) who swooped down at the very end of my selection process and totally took over the sale. It seemed from the interaction from the cashier that they work on commission, and the ONLY thing helpful this guy did was describe the difference in quality of the two pairs of boots my husband had chosen. Great selection here! They have a huge woman's boot selection as well as an entire nook filled with jeans! All the rhinestone rodeo jeans you'll ever need are here and there are plenty of sizes available. The Old Gringo and Corral boots are set up so that someone has to bring your your size. A bit of a hassle but the staff is friendly so it wasn't bad at all. I was able to find a new pair of brown boots and be on my way in less than 20 minutes.
You know it's rodeo time when people are stampeding into this place for all things cowboy related. I went here, like everyone else, on Go Texans Day eve. It was the first time I have ever stepped into a western store and I was kind of overwhelmed by everything and started reliving memories of when I had to learn how to square dance in elementary school. I've been a fan of Cavender's for a while but just recently visited this particular store. I was pleasantly surprised with how pleasant the salespeople were and that they did not seem as pushy as some of the Cavender's I've been to before. The store was clean and well-kept. The boots were easy to browse through and I managed to find a couple of shirts and belts too. Now I'm stocked up for the HLSR!
AMAZING. =) I just had FUN shopping in here. I was completely lost, having it be my first time being in the store. A gentleman approached me and asked if he could help. Of course, I had no idea even where to begin with the wide selection - but we were able to find me boots, a hat and clothes. They were all super friendly and professional. When you go in, ask for CHARLIE. =) He's great with first time boot buyers.
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! My brother and i just got back from a trip to TX. We brought his daughter to the rodeo to see the Jonas Brothers. Although we were raised in TX he is now in NY and I am from CA - so finding western clothing was a fun time. We went Sat night and the staff was beyond helpful. I bought a pair of wranglers, a pair of boots and my brother bought some jeans, a belt buckle and a belt. The next morning we went back there to get the rest of the outfit. Yippee kai yay! I have finally succumbed and bought myself a pair of cowboy boots. I went to the Rodeo last year looking out of place so with the pressure of fitting in at the Houston Rodeo and Livestock show and work's Rodeo day, cowboy boots were a must. The customer service is horrible! I went up to an employee for help and she seemed uninterested and look annoyed!!! I came on a Wednesday around 8:35pm on march 18th. Not a good guest interaction I prefer taking my business elsewhere!

On March 8, 2026, I visited Cavender's looking for a last-minute dinner outfit. I understand that Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo brings a lot of extra traffic to stores during this time, but that doesn't mean customer service should suffer. Unfortunately, my experience was not the best. The store was very messy, with clothes on the floor and items misplaced throughout the racks, which made it difficult to find what I was looking for.
