I was here once as a patient. I may have been young but it was such a bad experience that I remember it all. the staff there did not care about us at all, when I was there they had a guy that worked there and he was like 300 pounds and if I didn't take my medicine because I was young and didn't know how to take it they would literally tell him to sit on me and then they shoved the pills down my throat. when I called my mom and told her about it it was so bad that she thought I was lying and just trying to get her to take me ... read more
i got chocked by a homicidal manic demon and nobody cared. i never revived help when i was suicidal. the nurse needs to be fired because she called me and my friends names when we were crying because someone was calling us faggots and bullying us for no reason. if you don't workout there, you have to stay there longer for "not doing what they told you to do". it's ridiculous. i was there for support, not to be chocked, have a huge panic attack, bullied, and have ADULTS tell me i was "overreacting" when i had the worst panic ... read more
My 16 year old son was sent to this facility, and it wasn't great or even good. He told me the place was filthy, always short staffed, and that the staff was rude to some of the kids. I personally thought it was awful because of the lack of care. They shoved a pill down his throat and didn't bother teaching him adequate coping skills. The therapist who called me wasn't even his therapist. She told me he was diagnosed with major depression without psychotic episode.....which is not accurate at all because he was there for mu... read more
Kudos to Dr Peirson, wendy, Carolyn and a few others I don't know the names of on staff. But the housekeeping was really bad really bad. I was there recently the last week of September 22 also there were no schedules posted for patients as to phone times meal times meeting times or anything. And if you ask you probably got yelled at by the BHA. On Wednesday 28th 2011 technician came to our meeting room and was so loud very loud no one could watch TV and several people had to leave the room because they were triggered by the ... read more
Please don't go here. As a former patient it was awful. There is no counseling, and they don't give you basic rights to call your parents or anyone. Within my first 2 hours of being at Cedar Crest there was a fight and one of the workers shoved me trying to get through to the fight and never apologized. Workers curse at you if you are out of line once and they told me multiple times I was crazy and there was something wrong with me. If you are a parent reading these, please do not send your kid here. I wasn't given lunch one... read more
Hello, I was a patient at Cedar Crest Residential around two years ago in early 2020 right before the pandemic started and I would like to say I recommend no one go here or send their children/family. For context I have been struggling with depression, C-PTSD, and other disorders for as long as I can remember and I was fresh out of an attempt when my history lead to me being forced to choose between Cedar Crest or A mental hospital in Austin and I desperately wish I'd chose Austin. To begin with my caretaker and I were ... read more
I'm a previous employee of Cedar Crest Hospital. I wouldn't send my dog there. This place don't care about there employees so all the good ones are gone. They're under staffed and unable to provide quality care. There are no cameras in the facility. They don't want cameras cause they would catch what's going on. If they had cameras they would be closed. The CEO only care about money so they don't turn down patient even when they know they're under staffed. The things that gone on are not intentional. It's mistakes and errors... read more
Not a Good hospital. It had potential. I like the fact that I was able to listen to music on YouTube. I really can't say anything else that is positive. The food was worse than high school cafeteria food. They withheld my meds, my natural soap and body wash, journal and my sandals. This wasn't the problem though. The problem was disrespect I received from a graveyard shift nurse. She was condescending and called me a jerk when I was having severe emotional issues. I went in there to receive help not confrontation. Also... read more
This is a terrible place tosend a person that is already suffering from mental illness or suicidiality. Prescribed meds from the patients' regular psychiatrists are not given. No explanation is ever provided. The staff mocks, insults and makes fun of the patients, even creating terrible names for them. The patients are bullied and I'm surprised if no one has come out and committed suicide right out of discharge. This place should be shut down. I know of one certified psyche nurse that worked one shift there and she said sh... read more
