This place is a joke. Worst experience ever! NO communication what so ever and if you want to know what's going on with your child you have to call and keep getting transfered and transfered just to hear from my child of what happened. Just flat out the worst! All the way from the rude nurses, incompetent therapist, and absent psychiatrist. Please seek better treatment else where, there are plenty. Also, they have roaches and mice.
So far I am not impressed with this facility at all. My grandson is there. He had broken his hand (at his own doing) but didn't receive medical care for 2 weeks. Now he may need surgery. On top of that a door slammed on his other hand and broke his ring finger and no one notified me. I had that finger xrayed when I drove up there to take his to the emergency room over his other hand. Trust me when I say if he needs surgery, Cedar Crest WiLL be paying for it. He was assigned a therapist for a specialized therapy and after 2 s... read more
This place deserves no stars, or a negative number of stars. I suffer with depression and a mental illness. I went willingly with my mom because they have been concerned. The guy who interviewed myself and my family was Robert. He only cared about answering the questions, and was rude. I have anger issues. And he elevated the level of my anger. We came in to a classroom and there was a dead fish in the fish tank and he didn't care at all. Nor did he take it out. He didn't seem to care about anything, I stair up looked at... read more
I'm writing this from a visitor's viewpoint. Horrifying! You are treated like a criminal that is up to no good if you want to visit on one of their two visiting days per week. You cannot have anything on you with the exception of your keys. You are not allowed to take food, even something as simple as donuts for the unit. You are lined up in a back hallway with other visitors and then "wanded." This place might be convenient to Fort Hood soldiers but the short distance is absolutely NOT worth it. The person at the check ... read more
DO NOT go to this facility. My son(11) was left to vomit on himself consistently for 3 days with no help offered even though he came in with a prescription for Zofran. He lost 8 pounds in 3 days. By the time I found out and immediately took him out he was very ill requiring emergency treatment. They abruptly stopped 6 medications with no tapering down. He was hit by a staff person. Intimidated by the medical director regarding the physical harm he endured. It took me 5 hours to get him out of there. I was threatened with pol... read more
I went here willingly when I was 16- 3 years ago, just about. I was told straight up that I was allowed to phone my mother any time I wanted, that I would be treated fairly, and after a few days I could have socks instead of no shoes and cold feet. My mother was ALSO told this. My first night, I was not allowed a pad or a tampon despite being on my monthly time. I had to BLEED all over myself. I got fleas because my roommate had them and when I told one of the guard-people they wouldn't do anything and thought it was funny. ... read more
