We are using Rhonda Johnson’s Cornerstone team in Homer and Soldotna. We Have had a rough experience to say the least. We are now past closing, with many “I’m sorry, but there is nothing we can do”. I can’t get anyone to call me back. Received email stating I “should have known” about the CD and it’s requirements and I should have asked for it. My parents, David and April Sullivan, are also having a similar experience to Jene. They were misled at closing about terms surrounding their property taxes. Home evaluation was not included, property taxes increased by 9k! They closed in October 2017 and the tax increase was communicated to them a whole year after(December 2018) living within the house and are now being forced to pay an additional 1k a month. Cornerstone can seem like an amazing company but then, BAM, you find out they are only taking the bare minimal for taxes and you are responsible for not 1-2k, but 7k. Worst part is it was due Oct 1 and I never received a call from Cornerstone, nor did I receive a bill. This company is the worst mortgage company I have ever dealt with, bar none. I sent my first loan payment to the address given, then I received a letter saying they had not received it and I wanted to know why not. They said I sent it to wrong address, ok, so I sent a new check to the right address plus the following months payment since it was coming due. I do not recommend this lending company. You can have the best financial statement in the world but the process is cookie cutter. They are not willing to work hard on your behalf. Their main excuses are because of fannie mae and freddie mac that all people have to go through the same process. There are small pool of people who are responsible previous home owners and their finances that truly deserve a home but are not approved because of short 1 month of employment. Never use this company. They make it easy to get you a mortgage, then take our additional insurance policies even when you already have one! The servicing department is terrible, and they won't call me back. I'm looking to move my mortgage. They should be working for me with how much money they are going to make off me. RUN from this company.

I’ve only had my loan for six months but I’m trying to get a better interest rate and I cannot get in touch with anyone!!!!! It’s been exactly two weeks to date and I’ve been trying daily three to four times a day and they are always experiencing a high call volume!
