Cornerstone is messing up our home loan. My husband is a disabled Vet and qualifies for Homestead Exempt. We completed all the paper work in January and sent to the Bank, our mortgage payment was adjusted accordingly, but now Cornerstone keeps sending our payment back saying we are short paying them. We have been calling and trying to fix, every time they promise to fix it, but then they turn around and send our payment back again. I'm suing Cornerstone in California Superior Court and just obtained a restraining order against them and their subservicer, Cenlar, for violating my California Homeowners Bill of Rights. Avoid these incompetent boobs at all costs!
Do not get involved with this company. Their payment center in New Jersey is terrible. They lost my electronic mortgage payment. It has been over 3 weeks and although the information of the transactions has been provided to them 3 times, they have done nothing. No one calls you back. This is the worst place I have had to deal with.
I totally agree, they have no idea what is going on. I'm trying to modify my loan and they are trying to short sale. WORST company ever. As soon or should I say if I get this straightened out I'm refinancing. They put me in a home that I could not afford but told me I could then I get to the closing table and they throw another $100 at me on my house payment. Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere!! Cornerstone is the absolute worst and their customer service is horrible!!! I held for over 1 hour today for a csr who was absolutely useless, then got on with a supervisor who was more worthless than the csr!! To escalate concerns beyond the supervisor requires either a fax or mail-in letter!!! Wtf!!! Literally the worst experience ever trying to get my house built after all the paper work was finally done. I️ was relieved thinking that finally it was all over.. but I️ was wrong.. this company has horrible company relations.. New Jersey office is totally incompetent. There is no communication between departments and they are very deceptive, either deceptive or have no damn clue on what’s going on. It took a year and 2 months to get our loan modification finalized. And guess what? It got finalized this past March but cornerstone still is trying to collect an amount that I haven’t seen before or know why it’s $700 more then my regular payment.
