Get directionsIt’s beautiful community. It’s very close to my house which might be a really good selling point. The residents all seemed very happy. My dad loves the community he’s in, but I might feel safer with him being in this community rather than the one he’s currently in.

My second tour at this location with my 73-year-old mother in the past year. The appearance of the grounds went from very good to great in my estimation so far. It looks like the property has been refreshed over the last 12 months with paint, furniture, lighting, etc., which indicates a caring attitude about the visual and living aspects of the facility. Mr. Mark Maxwell (Community Relations Director) is a pleasure to communicate with. Seems to have a love for his job that transfers over to the other staff and guests. All ... read more

Emeritus is set up with six to eight different cottages, with eight rooms per cottage. They all have single rooms, and just one that is a locked dementia unit. The rest have beautiful grassy areas and covered porches. They have nice handicap accessible private bathrooms in each room. There is a group dining room and kitchen at one end of each cottage and big living room with a fire place at the other end of the cottage. In between there is the nurses station an medicine cart. There are probably 45-65 residents total. The dem... read more

Thank you~
They have a bunch of little cottages there. It's just a different kind of situation. Each cottage had it's own dining room but the the rooms weren't as big.

I believe we found the best place for my friends Russell Mc Farland and Gertrud Kiwitt. Your selection worked very well. We only visited 3 places out of the 6 offered and decided on Emeritus Palm Springs. The staff there was very gracious and helpful. It is difficult to have one person well and one handicapped making this big transition but it is going to be ok with a little more time for Gertrud who is taking it pretty hard. I am coaching them the best I can and there is only one problem for them and that's the food. Not en... read more

The way they have it set up, it's just not great. The grounds are pretty but the facility itself isn't that great. The dining room is a little tiny. They have separate buildings with blocks of rooms so your building has a like a dining hall. It's not really a restaurant. It's like they cart it in from somewhere else and if you have friends in another building then you can't have dinner with them. It's very bizarre.

Excellent! You're getting what you pay for over there. The care is excellent. It's a very good caring staff and they get the things done that need to be done. There are not tons of activites but there are a few everyday. My mother-in-law loves them. They play bingo, have movie night with popcorn, excercise and coffee hour every morning, and they have other games too. They cover a wide range of things. It's all been very positive. She likes the people, she likes the food. She said to me "I cannot find anything wrong!"

Thank you, we appreciate your feedback.
I was very disappointed with the level of care and staffing. There often did not seem to be enough staff available, and residents could wait a long time after pressing for assistance. At times, there was no staff visible in the building for extended periods. Communication and consistency in care were also concerning. Important information about my father's condition and fall risk did not always seem to be known by staff members. Medication administration was inconsistent, and there appeared to be confusion about how his medi... read more

We are disappointed that this has been your experience with us. Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback as we always appreciate hearing where we can improve. We have one caregiver per Assisted Living cottage at all times, and should they have to step out, we have medical technicians available to assist. We have a comprehensive care plan available in each cottage for every resident accessible to all staff that includes detailed instructions for medication management. We have escalated your comments dir... read more
No reports will be forthcoming. If you visit, you may not be able to get into cottage for 10 or 20 minutes and you may have to search other cottages for an official who can admit you. Front desk is not manned 24 hours and night people don't always pick up phone. There is odor and theft. The schedule of activities on wall is mostly for show. All of this will be less relevant outside of memory care, of course, and with patients who can respond to their own problems.
Business response:
We apologize that this has been your experience with us. We understand your frustration with delays in communication, but after 5 p.m. one of our Med Techs is responsible for our after hours phone, and will not answer right away when providing care. We take pride in the the care we have for our community and our residents, and we can confirm that there have been no reported thefts. As our Cottages are specific to Memory Care, we keep them locked for everyone's safety, which can lead to a delay if care staff is with another r... read more
