Get directionsMy second tour at this location with my 73-year-old mother in the past year. The appearance of the grounds went from very good to great in my estimation so far. It looks like the property has been refreshed over the last 12 months with paint, furniture, lighting, etc., which indicates a caring attitude about the visual and living aspects of the facility. Mr. Mark Maxwell (Community Relations Director) is a pleasure to communicate with. Seems to have a love for his job that transfers over to the other staff and guests. All ... read more
Emeritus is set up with six to eight different cottages, with eight rooms per cottage. They all have single rooms, and just one that is a locked dementia unit. The rest have beautiful grassy areas and covered porches. They have nice handicap accessible private bathrooms in each room. There is a group dining room and kitchen at one end of each cottage and big living room with a fire place at the other end of the cottage. In between there is the nurses station an medicine cart. There are probably 45-65 residents total. The dem... read more
They have a bunch of little cottages there. It's just a different kind of situation. Each cottage had it's own dining room but the the rooms weren't as big.
I believe we found the best place for my friends Russell Mc Farland and Gertrud Kiwitt. Your selection worked very well. We only visited 3 places out of the 6 offered and decided on Emeritus Palm Springs. The staff there was very gracious and helpful. It is difficult to have one person well and one handicapped making this big transition but it is going to be ok with a little more time for Gertrud who is taking it pretty hard. I am coaching them the best I can and there is only one problem for them and that's the food. Not en... read more
The way they have it set up, it's just not great. The grounds are pretty but the facility itself isn't that great. The dining room is a little tiny. They have separate buildings with blocks of rooms so your building has a like a dining hall. It's not really a restaurant. It's like they cart it in from somewhere else and if you have friends in another building then you can't have dinner with them. It's very bizarre.
Excellent! You're getting what you pay for over there. The care is excellent. It's a very good caring staff and they get the things done that need to be done. There are not tons of activites but there are a few everyday. My mother-in-law loves them. They play bingo, have movie night with popcorn, excercise and coffee hour every morning, and they have other games too. They cover a wide range of things. It's all been very positive. She likes the people, she likes the food. She said to me "I cannot find anything wrong!"
Horrible Experience at Pacifica Senior Living – Our Worst Nightmare Come True We entrusted Pacifica Senior Living with the care of our beloved mother, and it turned into a heartbreaking tragedy. Please read this before making any decisions about this facility: • Rapid decline in just 11 days: Our mom lost 10 pounds in only 11 days. • Paid for Level 4 care – received less than minimal:We paid top-tier for full support—bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility, etc.—and staff treated her as if she needed no assistance at all. • Co... read more
Absolutely worst care for Memory Senior Living. Please do more research before considering this facility. Patients left alone for hours, not given showers, food is deplorable and very understaffed. My Family member went in Healthy and left 10 days later in an ambulance due to a fall. Not discovered for hours. She lost 10 pounds in 10 days. We got her home and could never get her back to Health. She passed 18 days after leaving Pacifica/Cottages. Read Yelp Reviews.
Two of mom's rings were stolen while she was at this facility, the air conditioning in community areas (not patient rooms) has been out for months! I only found about about this when I spoke with the staff there who continue to tell me that they're "aware and looking into it." When Mom was sent out via ambulance (twice) they sent her without her glasses, nor her current meds lost. The meals are nothing spectacular. The majority of times I have been there, residents are walking the hallways doing laps alone, or watching tv wh... read more
