TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We’ve been meaning to check this spot out since they open. It’s a busy spot, service available through drive thru and dine-in, there’s also a spot for outdoor seating, we haven’t used their other options. There’s nice graffiti all around and the pop of color is inviting. Their menu is very straight forward. We had 2 sliders and substituted the fries for mac n cheese, and two tenders with fries. This was my first visit to a Dave’s Hot Chicken. I was not sure what to order, and the person at the counter was very helpful and helped me pick an item. I got the combo plate of chicken tender and single chicken slider with fries. The fries are really good. I liked the seasoning they put on it, very tasty. I don't know about you, but I love my Chicken and French Fries fried to a golden crispy crunch with a tender flavorful inside. Dave's Hot Chicken has this down to a science. My chicken was hot, fresh and so tasty. Not bogged down with grease or tons of breading. I ordered my spice hot and it was the perfect amount of heat and packed with savory flavor. The best fast-food chicken I've had!
As someone who passed the one chip challenge, the reaper seasoning is intense. They have you sign a waiver for a reason. I love spicy food, but next time I'm going to order 1 order of the reaper and something less intense for the second to hit my macros. Lol. The restaurant is clean and the decor is well designed. First time here and will be the last time. The menu picture appears to be small so it is deceiving and undoubtedly made customer to order more. The portion is actually fairly decent and surprisingly came with other side orders; 2 pc of bread.. DQ troll?
