TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

My barbershop is in the same shopping center as Dave's Hot Chicken. It's always packed So I decided to give it a try. I enjoyed the chicken, although I questioned it's origin, this was easily the biggest "tender" I had ever seen! Was l bigger than my hand . Tender & Juicy the SPICE was there too! Had a nice kick to it. I only ate One Slider left the rest to the wife. Overall I give the chicken 3/5. I still prefer "Raisin Canes". Dave is ok though. Give them a try.

I'm vacationing from out of town. I noticed Dave's Hot Chicken on my way into town and made a mental note to check it out. "How hot is it?" I wondered for three days. I made am evening run to the grocery store and decided to stop in for a single tender, which I had previously noticed on the menu. One of the most fire fresh chicken burgers EVER. Im not a fan of spicy so I didn't get any level of spice on mine and it was bomb.

Definitely worth a try -- several tries, in fact, because the chicken comes in many gradations of heat and it may take you a while to arrive at the one you prefer. The chicken is brined, coated with Indian-style spices, and deep fried, so attaining the right balance of heat and cumin is a matter of personal taste. For me, "hot" is piquant but not challenging, and quite delicious, but YMMV.
