Well.. after waiting for the initial wave of new opening to blow over, I finally go to Dave's to give this Hot chicken a try. The Newton location was easy to find and parking at the location is busy. Since this was my first visit I figured I'd rate them on my hot and spicy scale. Ordered the number 1 with two tenders and added a extra tender. 3.5 stars? I got 1 x Dave's #1: 2 Tenders w/ Fries (1 x $11.99) = $11.99 Extra Hot 1 x Dave's #2: 2 Sliders w/ Fries (1 x $13.99) = $13.99 Hot SUBTOTAL $25.98 TAX $1.81 TOTAL $27.79 The extra hot was definitely spicy and I had to drink lots of water. The sauce also helped with easing the spiciness. For $30 for two, it was a decent meal and very filling. I cannot decide between 3 or 4 stars because the food was definitely good. Decent/good place for chicken! I was very happy when I saw Dave's open on one of my favorite plazas, and I was happy to try it out. I ordered the Dave's #1 with medium spice level. The quality of the food was very good, and the chicken was prepared perfectly (no rough spots at all)- it was very juicy and tender. The food was delicious. I got the sliders and I thought they were gonna be these tiny little chicken sandwiches. I ate one for lunch and had the other one later in the day. I'll be returning again

I used Uber eats for my order. I ordered 2 tenders w/ fries and 2 sliders w/ fries. I replaced both fries with Mac and cheese at no cost since fries don't usually sit well for deliveries. The mac and cheese was decent, on par with Popeyes and kfc so nothing special. The tenders come with slices of bread. I got the hot and reaper for the tender order, extra hot and reaper for the slider order. I enjoy how each tender is a different color depending on the heat level ordered. I wanted to try this place for so long now since I saw it on Instagram. Finally took the time out to make the drive and go. It was well worth it! The menu is pretty basic and simple. There's three combos to choose from. I got the combo 3 which comes with a sandwich, tender, and fries. I opted to get the hot only because I actually wanted to enjoy the sandwich. Recently filled our chicken craving at Dave's, which has a range of heat levels to choose from! My partner and I ordered the reaper chicken tenders and extra hot chicken sliders, both of which came w fries - TASTE: 4/5 - we love spiciness and we weren't sure how hot this would actually be, but Dave's isn't kidding w the reaper heat! Ecstatic to find this location opened when it did. Had been to a couple of the early locations in LA and had no idea it had expanded to new england. Service was fast when I had opportunity to make it around opening time, but cannot speak to weekend conditions. The reaper spice level is as flavorful as I remember. There's a waiver so you know it's good.

Gone there 3 times now, excited to have another halal fried chicken joint in the area. It was ok the first time, great the second time, and again ok the third time. Not sure why. Their menu is very simple, either a large chicken tender or a fried chicken sandwich. The portions are also big. Not a fan of the kale slaw in my sandwich by your opinion may vary.
