So excited to finally get some good hot chicken here in downtown Oakland. The menu is reasonably priced for being located in the downtown area. On my trip today, I saw some homeless person going through the garbage cans inside the restaurant. Thankfully one of the staff kicked him out. Yeah, homelessness is a huge problem in the bay area unfortunately. Other than that, I had a good experience here. Can't wait to come back

This place is located in downtown Oakland and it's only been there for a little over 2 months. I got the 2 sliders with one medium and the other spicy and cheese fries. The meal was SO good. I'm really picky about hot chicken sandwiches and I was very pleased. It's not saucy, it's more of a dry rub that has a special sauce topping. The pickles were crunchy and crisp and the fries were hot and crispy. The fries remind me of zaxbys fries but thinner. The slaw in the sandwich added a fresh element. Went on an interesting day where Oakland was having a marathon. Found some street parking a block away. Ordered #2 and a side slider. I didn't realize the #2 was sliders, thought they were just tenders lol. The cashier was kind, efficient, and detailed! Got my order within 10 mins. Got it as takeout. The sliders was saltier side but with the sauce it covered the saltiness of it. Fries were ok maybe if I eat it fresher it would have been more crispy. Overall, I think is a good place if you are craving hot chicken.

If you like spicy chicken sandwiches...run! Run even if you don't. It's a smaller size sandwich so if you're hungry, grab two. Bun=perfect Chicken=moist, tender, and crispy on the outside Fries=hot, crispy and delicious The menu is simple. It's busy so everything stays fresh

There was a long line when I came in on a Friday night to order to go, but once my order was placed the food came out quick! I ordered #3 with a hot tender and medium slider. I expected the spice levels to be more intense, so I'll probably go with both hot next time, but the flavor was still really tasty. So finally got to try Dave's! It was an ugly rainy day in Oakland and this lunch definitely added a little joy and brightness to my day . So the slider! I did mild with cheese! Hella good lots of pickles would've like Mayo on and a bigger bun but it was so amazing tender juicy with a nice crunch . The fries hit and the dipping sauce was amazing ( even tho the portion was small ) maybe u have to ask for extra. Overall the customer service was great , it was clean and the food was great!

"Dave's Hot Chicken" is serving up spicy tender chicken sandwiches in downtown Oakland. Are you still eating boring chicken sandwiches? Well, maybe it's time to try tender fried chicken with your choice of spicy heat level. The menu is pretty simple, and the prices are fair. We placed an order online and it was ready for pick up as soon as we got there about 20 minutes later. I def. thought the price was worth it for the amount of food. the sliders are huge. I could only eat about one before getting full. They must use breast meat for their tenders and they are huge. The chicken is flavorful. Even though it's fried,bit still tastes fresh. Was in need of food and something close to work. Ok, check. Enough stars to give it a try, check. So here we go. Menu is simple, nothing major but a choice.
