TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

If you like chicken you must try Dave's. They offer bites, tenders and sliders The best thing is that you can customize your heat level from 0 heat to reaper. The chicken is very moist and tender and delicious. I got the 10 pc bites with mild heat and substituted Mac and cheese instead of fries for no additional cost. The Mac and cheese was delicious and quite creamy too. If Chicken is not your thing they also have fried cauliflower. My wife got the tender and slider combo an I must say the tender was absolutely huge.
Today, for the fun of it, I declared a chicken war to see who is better. Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken vs. Dave's Hot Chicken. Winner Bonchon. I bought the requisite chicken tenders, two levels of heat and a side of mac-n-cheese. The chicken is very good, moist, flavorful, a tad spicy but had no crunch. Wow I love this restaurant so much! The service is phenomenal to start off with - the cashiers are so friendly and personable. The food is absolutely delicious - I've never had such perfectly seasoned, crispy chicken tenders before. The French fries are great too - very crispy and well seasoned and not greasy. I came here on a busy night and the cashier even surprised us with a free slushee for my daughter. Highly recommended!
Parking is wild. lol it's so packed in the mall. We didn't have to wait long to order our food. Customer service was good. They let us put some tables together since our party was pretty big. Since it's new, the place was busy. Placed our order at 730 got our food for a party of 6 at 744 The sliders we got were the best. We chose medium for the sauce. Very solid restaurant to go to for hot chicken! Location is very convenient for anyone in the USF area. The hot chicken was substantial, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The chicken was spicy, but was well balanced so you taste both heat and flavor. The ambiance is nice and modern, with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. My son who goes to USF introduced us to this place. He found out about it from his professor! (Everybody is talking about it lol). The chicken is so good! There is a bit of a wait time so plan ahead. Every time we come to town, we get Dave's Hot chicken.
Dave's Hot Chicken is a great choice for fast food with home style quality. The prices were a little higher like a restaurant, but the portions and the flavor make it worth every cent. Menu was simple and straight forward. Service was decent- the chicken- It was fried well and the fries were good, but the chicken was not flavorful hot- it simply had an overpowering pure cayenne pepper hot. The moment I opened the box it was pure cayenne pepper. There were mild, medium, hot , extra hot, etc. I got the mild and my husband got the hot. His was unbearable.
