TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Though Dave's is a chain, I believe their chicken fingers are among some of the best in the area now. I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile, but held off until their post-opening rush died down a bit. Ya'll! I will admit, I went two days in a row. The first day I got the medium spicy slider with a hot tender and it was delicious. My spice tolerance is pretty high so these were both comfortable spice level. Chicken was cooked very well, I also got fries and macaroni and both were good. I like my sandwiches and tenders extra saucy so I grabbed extra packets. Average. 10 for lunch I can get behind and the food is decent. I had the medium slider with pickles and fry's. The sauce they serve you is just ok-I personally didn't get much taste from it. Atmosphere was nice and everything was clean. Shout out to the very friendly Sydney who was so helpful even though it was her first day.
Having followed Dave's on instagram for a while now and finally getting time to drop by I felt it fitting to leave a review. I ordered the #2, 2 sliders and fries. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned (medium) and was VERY crispy and spilled off the rolls. The crinkle fries again cooked perfectly, crispy and delicious. Good but not great. Chicken was kind of greasy. It was nice to have a choice of heat.
The chicken is delicious! And the spice, is well very spicy. So if you love that combo it is for you. I got some for a friend of mine who absolutely loves spice. He said the extra hit was enjoyable and the reaper really got him. He ended upbdribkibg warm water to take the heat off his tongue. The service was timely !
Today, I went to Dave's Hot Chicken. I saw that the restaurant had opened a few months ago, but the line was always long. My first experience was in North Carolina. It was great. This time, I downloaded the app and ordered. I saw they had coleslaw as a substitute for french fries. Please, do not do the substitute. The coleslaw is delicious. We have been to Dave's hot chicken locations previously in Florida and were excited to hear about one closer. We had afternoon plans and were planned to stop in for brunch timing when they opened. Location is decent sized, with plenty of room to eat-in. They have an app for easy ordering as well. Arrived at 10:30a with one customer in front of us who ordered. Put this off long enough. Had to make the trek to the dreaded NF Blvd to check this place out. Parking lot was full, walked in and had to be 20 or so people in line to order ahead of me.
