We have been to Dave's hot chicken locations previously in Florida and were excited to hear about one closer. We had afternoon plans and were planned to stop in for brunch timing when they opened. Location is decent sized, with plenty of room to eat-in. They have an app for easy ordering as well. Arrived at 10:30a with one customer in front of us who ordered. Put this off long enough. Had to make the trek to the dreaded NF Blvd to check this place out. Parking lot was full, walked in and had to be 20 or so people in line to order ahead of me. Said to myself, they're all here for a reason and it better be worth it.... it ABSOLUTELY was! Had Dave's #3 meal. Fries were crinkle cut which I generally do not prefer but they were perfect. Our first visit to Dave's Hot Chicken was delightful! The inside of the restaurant was clean and bright and does not smell like fryer grease. The order line was quick. They give you a pager to know when your order is ready. We got our food to go and everything was packaged well. We found the prices very reasonable to comparable restaurant/fast food places. My fam and I've been here 3x over the past month so it's time to leave a review... First, a friend of mine told me I *had to* try Dave's hot chicken even before this location opened (said friend lives in Cali). He raved about the hot sandwich with extra Dave sauce + honey (a must!) so low and behold when this place opened up I tried his beloved sandwich... and it was not for me bcuz it was wayyy too spicy! Not worth all the hype. Pricing is fair at $9.99 for sandwich and fries, with Coke slaw topping. Chicken? Fried chicken breast MILD is tender and juicy but doesn't have a KFC or Popeyes flavor surprise to the batter. Without sauce it's kinda blah. Dave's sauce? Tastes like mayo + ketchup. No spices nada. Honestly really good fried chicken sandwiches!! I've been to a Dave's in LA and this one was maybe even a little better. The chicken is surprisingly juicy and super flavorful. The bread is buttered nicely too which is a great touch. Their sauce doesn't really stand out to me but that's ok -- I feel like the chicken is the star of the sandwich anyway. Stopped in on our way though Buffalo. Very new but the service was quick and it was delicious. There were so many people there at 10pm on a Friday night! Friend got #1 with Mac & cheese. Very good. I got #4 sliders are bigger than usual size and they had really good fries! A bit noisy with so many people there but would go back again!
