Rating: 3.8 My partner wanted to try this place out because of the Fallout collaboration they were doing. It's a fast food style chain hot fried chicken restaurant in MA and RI. Since the closest one was in middletown, RI we visited this location. The exterior of the store has interesting graffiti style art work so you won't miss it. They have a good size parking lot for parking. Inside is pretty spacious and clean and their logo of rubber chicken is shown. Came for one thing, and that was the Fallout collab as seen in social media! Unfortunately they were sold out. Plenty of parking and very hard to miss building. Artwork was interesting and caught my eye. It even continued inside and the menu is clear~ staff was friendly and explained our options, and answered all my chicken questions~ the saucy bites can't be mixed in flavors, which was my question. The kids have been wanting to try this so we headed there for lunch. The food was prepared to order so not super fast in terms of fast food but it was very tasty. The saucy bites were delicious with a sweet sauce. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy potato on the inside - the perfect crinkly fries. You can choose your heat level. The sandwiches were great with tasty pickles and some nice cabbage on them. The service was prompt and efficient. Definitely good in terms of fast food chicken.

The french fries were surprisingly good. Nice crisp crinkle fries, hot out of the frier and soft inside. Spicy dry rub sprinkled over the top. The chicken sandwiches (we ordered no spice, medium and hot) were delicious with great tasting pickles. We also tried the saucy bites (hot honey) which were good but a little on the sweet side.

Dave's Hot Chicken is probably the island's best fast food restaurant. We came here for dinner after I left my day job for the last time. It was late, and we didn't know if it was going to be open. To my surprise, it was. Most places outside of downtown Newport seem to close pretty early. These guys have the spot where Plant City used to be. Dave's Hot Chicken had decent food overall. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which had good flavor and a nice crunch, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. The spice and seasoning were solid, just not particularly memorable. The restaurant itself was a little messy, which took away from the experience. Still, the staff were friendly, and the food was hot and fresh. Not bad for a quick meal, but probably not a place I'd rush back to.

Yeah, ok... it's not Gus's Nashville Hot... Breading a bit heavy and dense, chicken was succulent and juicy as any brined chicken would be but very salty... fries were ok crinkle cut... dave sauce, tasty but turned my stomach a little (high fructose corn syrup, caramel color and soybean oil --I generally try to stay away from) ... it's not something I'm going to go out of my way to get... 3 stars
