The kids have been wanting to try this so we headed there for lunch. The food was prepared to order so not super fast in terms of fast food but it was very tasty. The saucy bites were delicious with a sweet sauce. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy potato on the inside - the perfect crinkly fries. You can choose your heat level. The sandwiches were great with tasty pickles and some nice cabbage on them. The service was prompt and efficient. Definitely good in terms of fast food chicken.

The french fries were surprisingly good. Nice crisp crinkle fries, hot out of the frier and soft inside. Spicy dry rub sprinkled over the top. The chicken sandwiches (we ordered no spice, medium and hot) were delicious with great tasting pickles. We also tried the saucy bites (hot honey) which were good but a little on the sweet side.

Dave's Hot Chicken is probably the island's best fast food restaurant. We came here for dinner after I left my day job for the last time. It was late, and we didn't know if it was going to be open. To my surprise, it was. Most places outside of downtown Newport seem to close pretty early. These guys have the spot where Plant City used to be. Dave's Hot Chicken had decent food overall. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which had good flavor and a nice crunch, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. The spice and seasoning were solid, just not particularly memorable. The restaurant itself was a little messy, which took away from the experience. Still, the staff were friendly, and the food was hot and fresh. Not bad for a quick meal, but probably not a place I'd rush back to.

I like this place would I get it all the time I don't think so but the food is so good
Yeah, ok... it's not Gus's Nashville Hot... Breading a bit heavy and dense, chicken was succulent and juicy as any brined chicken would be but very salty... fries were ok crinkle cut... dave sauce, tasty but turned my stomach a little (high fructose corn syrup, caramel color and soybean oil --I generally try to stay away from) ... it's not something I'm going to go out of my way to get... 3 stars

Best chicken better than canes. We go there every day because it's better than canes. We eat chicken there. It's really good all the time recommended to everyone in the world.
Ok, first timer here and it did NOT disappoint. I wasn't expecting the tenders to have a dry seasoning on them, opposed to the regularly sauced tenders I'm used to. The rub was very good, and kept you going back for another bite. The price is a bit high, but the portion size really makes up for that.
