Wife and I decided to see what all the hype was about. We enjoy Nashville Hot Chicken in its various options. Dave's is not Nashville Hot but they don't advertise it that way obviously. We arrived at 2:20pm and there was a line that took about 15 minutes not bad and about another 15 minutes to get our order. We ordered tenders, fries and slaw. The chicken is crispy and juicy. The brand new Dave's Hot Chicken at the St. John's Town Center is literally bringing the heat!Colorfully situated on the corner of River Marsh Drive, it's really hard to miss this Nashville Hot-Chicken inspired restaurant with all of its Duuuuvalll inspired decor! best service best food fresh hot and ready the customers are friendly and helpful the chicken is really good i love the mild chicken and cheese fries there chicken bitesss are sooooooo good and the loaded fries and the slushiesss this place is defiantly number one for food i would eat on my lunch break.
Today was the soft opening - tomorrow, 04/18 is the grand opening of the Jax location of Dave's Hot Chicken. it was my first time trying DHC. I don't tolerate spice well but they have so many spice level options starting at No Spice. I went one level up from that, Lite Mild & think I'll go up to Mild next time. I really enjoyed the chicken, pickles, & the Dave's sauce (I haven't tried the mac & cheese yet), This place is going to be VERY popular so I recommend downloading their app to order in advance.
I love the food here however the customer service is not it. Prior to even paying, we had asked for ranch and the cashier told us we can ask for it when we get our food. Then when we went to get our food, the lady giving us the food goes oh you have to pay for ranch and when we said that we were told it would be free, she tells the cashier "I cant give ranch out for free" instead of giving it to us when we were told we would get it. I wanted to love it, but my meal was just OK at best. I stopped in around 6:30 pm a weeknight and the place was about half full. The folks at the counter were nice. I love when a place has vegetarian options and ordered the two cauliflower slider combo. I was a bit startled to see that with even the middle suggested tip (which was calculated at full service percentages even though this is a counter service location), it would come out to around $20 -- and I was even more startled to learn that this was without a drink. Chicken was extremely salty, and weirdly wet... The texture is not like normal chicken, it felt fake. My stomach hurts after eating it from all the salt. Also, I got medium heat and it had zero spice taste.

I been trying to get to this place since it opened. I been wanting to try the reaper seasoned chicken I heard so much about. I was not disappointed. The parking is not easy to get. The parking lot is shared with all other stores in that area. The inside is in great condition. Everything is perfectly clean. You will order when you enter. The drinks are self serve. We stopped in to Dave's hot chicken on Sunday and I was surprised to see a large seating space full of diners. However, I also saw many caution signs on the floors as well as garbage. We ordered our food to go. 2 orders of chicken bites, one medium, one no spice. We waited about 15 minutes for food, when it was handed over, the labels put on the boxes to keep them closed were not put on correctly so the boxes were open and the labels were dirty.
