Derby City Gaming and Hotel exceeded my expectations! My room was very clean and visually appealing. My mattress was very comfortable, as were the pillows. Water temperature in the shower reached warm to hot immediately and the water pressure was perfect. Parking is free in the lot outside, and the hotel/casino has a restaurant and a more casual eating option, as well as multiple bars. The casino was all machines and minimum bets were a penny to $3 with a high stakes area, as well as sports betting available. I would definit... read more

The only complaint I had was we stayed there 3 nights and did not get one cleaning. I had to request new towels and they didn't even pick up the old ones.

All in all not a bad stay but disappointing overall. The “gaming hall” is literally just slot machines with a food court and a couple of bars. There was a smoking section inside the hall-a reminder of a time long gone and fun at first- until the same vagrant who approached me outside of the hotel also approached me inside. Far more than I would have ever spent on a hotel to be in a less than ideal part of town with a view of a parking lot

We stayed on the 5th floor and all night we could hear a noise that sounded like water or wind coming through the walls. It was very disturbing. Sleeping was not good. The room was very clean and bed was so comfortable . This was my first time there.
