The animal rescue we work with uses Dr. Kelly when their dogs need to be spayed or neutered. I brought my foster dog Daisy here to be spayed. I was able to check her in right when I arrived and they took her off to the back. She was done with her surgery in an hour! We are not doctors but we thought the incision and stitching was done very well. You could barely see the incision and it was completely healed within 10 days. I strongly encourage anyone considering surgery at Dr. Kelly's Surgical Unit to get a second opinion first. When I brought my dog in to have a mass removed, I was given a detailed, itemized estimate. While transparency is important, the way it was presented made certain items--like testing the mass--seem optional and not especially urgent. I asked multiple times about the implications of not testing it. Disappointed is an understatement. If you care about your pets well being at all I would avoid this place. I was a returning customer and had a good experience the first time. The second time was ... horrific. I recently rescued a 5 year old male unaltered bully mix, I was already nervous about having a surgery preformed on an older dog. Horrible. They screwed up a neuter. They would not take five minutes to prescribe antibiotics. This is a terrible vet and they do not care about the health of you animal. BIG STAY AWAY

My Vienna's received care at Dr. Kelly's on April 30. I am sad to say that Vienna passed away from aspiration pneumonia and sepsis not 48 hours after leaving their office. I spoke to their office twice with concerns regarding Vienna and her recovery and was reassured both times that what Vienna was expecting was "normal for after a dental" and "give her time to recover". So, took my cat for spay and vaccination. I'm happy with the service and pricing, but after they got paid then nothing. When they returned my cat, they returned her in a dog carrier...a hard cage type thing. My friend picked her up for me and didn't know that that carrier was not mine. I contacted them and they said that they would get my cat's carrier back for me or refund me for my carrier, which was a nice soft carrier. I was quoted, in writing, a price ($271) for dental cleaning, that stated eveything was included. When I got there I was told that at that location it is required to have an IV catheter for an additional charge. I balked at that but let them take her back to get a further quote. When they brought Maggie back to me, the quote was for $1350 for a 6lb 4 yr old chihuahua. I am furious. My dog needed to have a cystoctomy done. I have a regular vet but called Dr. Kelly's because they had preformed the same procedure a year and a half ago. They quoted substantially less money so I scheduled it. After driving 45 minutes to the Scottsdale location, we were told they could not preform the procedure because he has stress seizures. I took my dog to the Mesa location to be spayed. It is quite a distance from our home, but I thought it was worth it. Unfortunately, the communication was poor. When I dropped her off at 9:30am they told me it would take 4-5 hours and they would be closing at 3:00pm. My children had appointments that ran long, so all of us rushed back to pick up the dog at 3:00.
