Good things do come in small packages Perfect little scanner. I had this scanner sent to me in the UK as not many places here sell it. I use it in bed to scan the days post/mail. My papers have been reduced down to one folder, which has essential documents in it. The fact that it doesn't need a power supply is outstanding. Underwhelming, but it meets my needs I was hoping to use this to scan to the FTP server on my network, and then sort files from there. However, that doesn't seem to be an option. The way the product works wirelessly is that it shares the contents of the SD card as a public Windows share and internal webserver. I found that it often has trouble connecting to my wireless network, and I have given up using it that way. Those goals set aside, it's a great scanner. Great scanner - better than NEAT! I used a neat scanner for years and finally wanted to trash it - it didn't have great image quality, I had a line running down my scans shortly after I got it and couldn't get it to go away, and finally got frustrated! I broke down and order this, and I couldn't be happier!!! The image quality is amazing, the software is even better. I can easily scan right to my dropbox and it's simple to use. Brother could have done a lot better on software part. Overall impression - Solid hardware, lousy software/firmware. Pros - - Good scan quality, comparable to my Epson Perfection V300 Photo flat bed scanner. Most important factor in my selection and decision. - Double sided scans, really impressed (but this is my first portable scanner). - Fast scanning, compared to my flat bed scanner. - Hardware looks good. SO FAR CANT GET IT SET UP I have a feeling I will like using this....if I can ever figure out how to set it up. 2 of us have tried using 2 different (compatible) computers and we have gotten nowhere. We are intelligent people that can follow instructions but due to the poor instructions and less than intuitive operations we've yet to get through set up to use. On the plus side it is very light and portable. Good idea not so good in practice.
Good Portable Scanner I was looking specifically for a portable scanner - realizing that it may not offer everything a regular scanner would - and am fairly pleased with Brother DS920DW. DS920DW is meant for scanning single sheets of paper such as loose pages from a report, receipts, etc. It does have a double-sided scanning capability. Great Scanner, if you can get it set up. This scanner scans much high quality than I expected it too, and in color. It is easy to use, once you figure it out, but figuring it out is not that easy. The documentation that comes with it stinks. It was useless, so I got it working through trial and error. I have been in IT for over 20 years so I am using to figuring out how to make difficult pieces of equipment work. A good "travel" scanner, but definitely doesn't cover all scanning needs. First, the good news: if you're looking for a small, portable scanner to haul around in your briefcase with your laptop for business meetings, then the Brother DS920DW might just be what you're looking for. Love that it's portable! Wish I had this product a long time ago. This product will help me get my papers at home organized. It is wireless and I absolutely love that it is protable!!! For what I need it for it works great!!! I can scan in receipts and other paperwork with ease.
