Over the years, I owned and maintained numerous Brother MFC units so I am very familiar with the software and the settings. It does not hold charge. 1.0 out of 5 stars Challenging to set up, get started As another reviewer noted, this scanner is not easy to set up and get started. I tried to follow his directions as well as the ones on the company site and couldn't get this scanner to work. For $200, it shouldn't be that hard. I returned this scanner.
2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy if you use a Mac The wireless scanning does not appear to be supported in Mac OSX. There is literally no support or help. A YouTube "tutorial" is outdated and even when followed does not work as described. Probably going to return it. [UPDATE] Wireless setup doesn't work in Windows 10 either, apparently.

It would not connect to my computer even with wine, so tried it with an SD card which had to be 32GB and formatted to FAT. It did recognize the SD card and it did scan, however, the scanner would pull the photo and twist it or would get a slight jam and not be able to pull the photo through the unusual feed up 90 degree bend that it has. 2.0 out of 5 stars Works Great Until It Doesn't I've been using this scanner for the past two years for scanning occasional documents. I like the one touch capabilities and the small form factor. Today it stopped working with an error message saying "No Document" when trying to scan. The machine itself seems to be operational and I'm not sure why it's no longer recognizing that documents are loaded. No software or cords Totally unusable
I can't get this scanner to work I have an M1 iMac. Since this scanner uses USB 3.0 and the M1 does not have that port, I tried using an adaptor. Scanner does not recognize my computer. So I tried to use the scanner with the wifi. Only to find out (or so it seems to me) that I have to disconnect my computer from my wifi in order to connect my computer to the wifi of the scanner. If that is the case, that is completely inefficient. Will be easier to start scanning using an app on my phone.
It is rubbish.. Worst ever Brother equipment I have used, disconnected, jams at any time, hard to clear even after the jammed was resolved.
