January 1 2014 my mom went to Reliant in La Frontera to get her strength back after a one week hospitalization for pneumonia. They kept her for 3 weeks. the swelling in her legs was the worst I had ever seen from keeping her in a wheelchair (without legs that could rise). In stead of walking her to bathroom, which was main reason for her being their- resume walking with walker-she was pushed back and forth to bathroom. Patients are on lock down from having to sign in and out to so-called nurses screening phone calls to patient rooms. Families are not welcomed to come visit their loved ones without being under a watchful eye. I'm under the impression that having your family around you is what helps the patient succeed and feel better while working towards the overall goal of being able to go back home to live a nornal life. Well apparently not. The "Meh, I've experienced better" is probably an understatement.

NEVER EVER take a loved one to this place and think they are getting around the clock care. Maybe this is just the nature of the business, this place is terrible. I'm so angry at the way this place has treated my grandfather, where do I start. My grandfather got infection deep in the tissue of his foot, that resulted in amputating toes. We chose this place based on location, nice facility and clean looking. Dr's order's were for him to spend 12 days here so that the nurses could assist him every time he had to get out of b... read more

They prey on the elderly and confused. My mother has excellent insurance and needed a rehab facility after her hip was broken. I toured 3 facilities (including Health South) and chose a different one. On 3 separate occasions Health South said that they were sending a transport for my mother to their facility, once to my neice, who said no, we hadn't made a decision yet. Once to me after I toured, and I said no, we were still discussing and hadn't decided. The next day they come to my mother's room, while she is o... read more
