I've had a wonderful experience at healthsouth. I've been going for the past month and have actually worked with 4 different physical therapist. They have honestly been more helpful in my recovery from 2 herniated dics then my spinal doctor. They take the time to talk to you and explain everything. They make sure to start you off slow so they can find what works to help the pain. I've been going here for the past week for physical therapy, and let me tell you; these people are amazing! When you walk in you may not be too impressed, the facility isn't huge, and they don't have any fancy schmancy technology. However, the physical therapists who work here are amazing. You feel like you've known them for years, and they know exactly what they're talking about. Let me give you an example. A few weeks ago, I badly hurt my knee. I wish I could say my wife had a great time here, but it was quite the opposite. After hearing how wonderful this place was, I was excited to hear she would be going here. My wife was brought in due to a spinal cord injury, which left her a paraplegic. She was to get physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, if deemed needed. She received physical therapy, in which she fell TWICE from the hoyer lift. NO ONE CALLED TO INFORM ME! When I found out later, that she fell and questioned the facility, all they said... read more

The food here has been served like warm every meal . Oatmeal that won't melt soft margarine! This morning, at 4am it was time for my pain medicine and muscle relaxers. They are Out Of Muscle Relaxers! Unbelievable, I have to suffer because of their incompetence!

Overall my experience at Encompass was pretty good. The nurses were professional and attentive and the OT/PT staff were professional when addressing what I was capable of doing during PT and staying very aware of the exercises or movements that could cause damage to my back. My only complaint was with Dr. XXXX during my last week at the facility. Four days before my release, Dr. XXXX was doing rounds and arrived at my room around 8:00pm. I wanted to discuss getting a steroid prescribed due to the pain that I was experie... read more
