If I could give 10 stars I would. My sister from out of town became disoriented and possibly suffering from a stroke, which luckily was not the case but diagnosed with a white matter brain disorder. Symptoms involved dizziness, cognitive issues and loss of some motor functions. The hospital discharged her to Encompass. The staff has been outstanding including PT, OT and speech therapy. I'm in the unique position of being able to provide a comparative review of the Acute Rehabilitation Facilities at both INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital and Encompass in Aldie because my wife has spent just over 2-weeks in both of them this year, just months apart. Both facilities get 4-stars, but for different reasons. This review will compare and contrast both facilities. Where do we start? This place has changed our lives forever. We got here from the hospital after a stroke, unable to speak, drink, eat, sit, or walk. EVERYONE here played a crucial role in getting us to a better place. The full time DOCTOR (Dr Ahmad) checked on us at least once a day and kept on top of every minor change in blood pressure until it was stable. The NURSES were just wonderful, day shift and night shift. And the THERAPY staff was phenomenal. We got one hour each of PT, OT and ST every weekday and our progress wa... read more

I don't have much experience with these kind of places but my aunt was sent here from the E/R. I have to say.... I am so impressed! It's clean and well equipped. The staff is a AMAZING! so kind and helpful. They have PT/wound care/dieticians/OT/docs all under one roof! This makes recovery speedy and convenient. I always thought "rehab" was a scary place... but this is far from that. They are doing an amazing job! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to your loved ones who want to get well quick!

I was at HealthSouth for 11 days with a fractured spine. I had been in Reston Hospital twice,starting on March 1 and all they did was give me pain pills and would not put me in inhouse rehab. I went to HealthSouth on May 1. There was physical and occupational therapy for 3 hours every day. The staff was wonderful. I am a fussy eater, but the food was very good. I had better care and improved considerably at HealthSouth. I highly recommend this facility.
