I no longer have a storage space here, but that is only because I moved out of state: believe me, if I were still in California I'd still be doing business with Extra Space. They're courteous, quick, and the late gate hours make it easy to get access to your things. Highly recommended!
"Good customer service" doesn't begin to cover it. For more than a year I've rented storage space at this facility, and I've been impressed with the staff's unfailing courtesy, thoughtfulness, and willingness to go above and beyond. When a family crisis erupted while I was switching from one unit to another, they were memorably kind and helpful -- and tactful, too. Be careful when moving in here. For the last week elevators have been shut down and from what i was told its over nonpayment to keep up to date permits. What a great time to not have access to an elevator right as its time to bring all the Christmas decorations home for the holidays. What would happen if the CUSTOMER didnt pay a bill on time? But lets be serious, the state inspectors do not come out right away to shut down service so i dont want to hear "i forgot"

Phone number listed here and other places is not working. So what does that mean? Does this place close down? Nobody needs to change the phone number in the system. Even when I look up the number using Google, it gives the number that's not working. I mean the 3000 number.

Unless you like to get your sweat on, find a place with complimentary AC. Upon moving in, I noticed there was no air conditioning. The thermostat mounted to the wall claimed it was 90º on the third floor! I met a man in a neighboring unit. He said he'd been there for years and the AC had never worked. I gave 1 star since most of the workers there are polite, knowledgeable, and very friendly. However, I would have given ZERO stars with how my situation was handled. ANOTHER rate increase while facilities continue to go down hill... I have now been with these crooks for 5 years because of the proximity to my home, when I moved in rent was $160 it has just been increased to over $280 and with the homeless camp they are allowing behind the building on their property, there has been increased burglaries to units - ACSO knocked on my door 5 days ago asking for video from my system because theirs is so bad. I had my bike stolen from here in Castro valley and the police said there ave been a lot of break ins recently. And the person on site refused to look at any of the video footage saying he didn't have time?? Bogus! Don't rent from here unless you want your stuff stolen with no help from anyone to find it. Why have cameras if they won't bother looking at it to help you if there is a break in!?

Dan we moving out of the storage and this is the voicemail I get from him. We are not done moving out just had my brother and nephew go on a lunch break and he goes off on me over the phone. Saying his going to charge me and am violating the less and they will send me to collection. The reason we are leaving is stuff Is melting due to there so called air conditioned building that's so hot inside no one can bare it for a few min to even check.
