My primary issue was that within a few months of taking advantage of a web "special", my rent was increased 12%. I guess they assume most folks are stupid. Cost of living hasn't gone up that much in the last 7 years combined. Also, units not as well-constructed as my last cheaper unit up north. We do offer introductory rates and specials, but occasionally we will need to increase rental rates to keep up with the rising costs associated with providing top-notch service and a clean, secure facility.
A couple of years ago....before Extra Space Storage bought out the previous owner, we were paying $150 per month for a space. Since then we get at least a 10% rental increase and we are now paying $241. This is a national Real Estate Investment Trust that wants to squeeze every penny that they can out of consumers.
