Bait and switch on the price. After 3 mos large increase. Also will sell your belongings at auction without calling texting or emailing you that this is in process. You are suppose to be notified. Store price 10x15 $300.00 plus per month. Price gouging.

I moved out of a 5x5 storage unit that held all of my new items including a queen size bed mattress, couch, island table, one box and a few other furniture pieces. Upon moving out all of my belongings I realize they are all wet and damaged from the rain. I also notice there's bugs inside the unit and inside the plastic protectors wrapping all of my items. I have used Extra Space quite a long time now, this being my second unit with them. Love the staff, and the facility is fine. I'm planning on just getting rid of my things as soon as possible at this point due to their constantly rising rates. When I first rented, my monthly charge was a fairly reasonable amount (I think it was $158/mo.). Unfortunately, that doesn't last for long here. They raise the rent about every six months. I rented a 5X10 unit for $79 a month, within 1 year they had raised the rent 2 times. It was at $93 a month when I called and spoke with the district manager. He claimed that this was normal and that the unit rate should be around $130 a month. He claimed it was normal for them to get customers in at a lower rate and then increase the rent until it reflects the market value. He could have cared less. Put a lock on my unit because their systems failed to charge my account properly.. Was notified ONLY cash would be accepted for past dues, no if and's or buts.. Escalated to upper and corporate management who stated they same, cash only, EVEN after verifying it was nowhere in the contract cash only for back payments; it actually states there is a $25 feeder returned checks, and that cash, debit/credit or check can be made to make up for payments.. this company totally charged my account 2x after my initial payment and due to my critical health issues, being in and out of the hospital, i called them to cancel my storage unit sense i never used the space! they now have charged me 3 times with nothing in the unit and after talking to several people about cancellation over a month ago! today, i woke up only 3 days after a difficult back surgery, they charged me again $132.00 and caused my account to go into overdraft status and additional $35 fee! don't use this locati... read more

This is an absolutely terrible company that will walk all over you. Initially they lied about pricing, the unit cost nearly doubled in 2 years with poor communication. Customer service was terrible. Beware.

The facility manager here is very poor about answer a phone call. I've had two separate problems with vandalism and theft over my time renting with them. They are not helpful with the claims process either. Will I be reimbursed for my losses? Who knows with this poor managed shady establishment.
