I've found myself having to move a long distance away for work with not a lot of time to get my life here in the Bay Area put away so I can head down to Southern California for work. I needed to get my things in storage ASAP and found Extra Space Storage to be more than accommodating to my tight time frame. We just got an upstairs unit and I have no problems so far. I got a follow up call almost immediately after reserving from AJ one of the managers. He was also there the morning of our move in and was extremely helpful. Definitely knew his stuff. Since I haven't really had any problems yet, I would say the only thing that was a bummer was the $13 for insurance a month. When you're only getting a tiny space, that almost a 50% increase of what you were planning on paying. I'm worried about these rent price increases as well... read more

Wow. I am surprised to see 3 stars. I encountered nothing but nice and courteous staff who really wanted to help me get settled. Ernest showed me the unit and was extremely polite. He carried my moving boxes out to the car and gave me a discount due to some errors on my account. What a nice way to start my move!

I just started renting from this storage facility. Pricing seems to be one of the best around the Bay Area, and I certainly enjoy my first month free with online reservation! Reservation and move in worked out well. Was so glad they have a fork lift there to move my palettes close to the elevator. Staff was super nice in person as well as on the phone whenever I called with a question. Would definitely recommend this place.

The new management team is awesome and they actually care about the customers situation and are there for you along the way. I have rented a storage with this facility for awhile and I love the great customer service i receive. I will refer them to anyone who needs some extra space!

The staff is very helpful and nice. While there are no guarantees, the facility appears safe and well kept. However, after just ~6 months, I got a 10% rent increase without prior notice and it appears from a previous review that I should be expecting another in a few more months. When I contact the local office to ask about the increase, they could give little information. If the next rent increase is similar in size, I may have to start looking around for an alternative.

What a wonderful storage complex. The staff are friendly and efficient. When moving in we needed more space than we originally thought. They were very good at organizing another space just across the aisle. The complex is clean and well maintained. I highly recommend it.

I previously reviewed this storage rental, and now that I've closed out, am giving it a second rec. The staff were wonderful and the space was clean, well-lighted, easy to navigate. They did raise the rates slightly twice during the 15 months I was there, and if you already have renters' or homeowners' insurance you may not need the insurance they want to add on -- it's optional but they push it. But still, as self-storage goes, it's a good one.
