Great lunch! I had the 2 step that included 2 meats and 2 small side items. I had burnt ends and ribs. Both tasty. Ribs were my favorite. Being from KC I am spoiled with excellent burnt ends at home. Brussel Sprouts and Mac and cheese side items for my sides. Really enjoyed the Brussels. They had several bbq sauces to try that were great. Very clean and reasonable prices. Parking was somewhat of a challenge but not uncommon for this area.
Judging from a takeout order: very enjoyable BBQ! Both the brisket and pork were tender and flavorful. The sauces were nicely vinegary and paired perfectly with the meat. The mac and cheese was enjoyable as well!
good bbq, in november the restaurant is empty and a little dire but in good season it's a warm and cozy spot. food is good bbq. not my specialty so can't say it's rave worry but worth atleast a try by all.
Food was so good I love the burnt tips and the smoked Mac and cheese, the smoked wings and the broccoli. Service was good also I was able to taste test a few things that made me buy more lol
With BBQ, you truly can't go wrong, and this place did not let you down. I purchased the deal, which included two meats and two sides, and paid less than $20 for the ribs and beef tips. The portions were substantial and satisfying. The actual BBQ was quite tasty and cooked to perfection. The sides were a mixed bag; the baked beans were sweet and delicious, but the mac & cheese lacked flavor. Overall, the BBQ is good, enjoyable, and a terrific value for the money, so I would definitely return.
You really can't go wrong with barbecue, and this spot didn't disappoint. I went with the special , two meats and two sides and got the ribs and beef tips for under $20. The portions were generous and filling. The barbecue itself was cooked to perfection and really flavorful. The sides were a mixed bag: the mac & cheese was a little lacking in flavor, but the baked beans were sweet and tasty. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the barbecue, it's solid, satisfying, and a great value for the price.
It takes a while to order and get the food. We came in a group of 3 around 2pm on a weekend. The interior has a modern warehouse feel. The food itself was pricey for the taste and quantity that we received. The meats were also a little dry which seems not great for a BBQ place. Mac and cheese was decent and the potato wedges were the highlight.
This is a nice little barbecue joint in downtown DC. There is limited street parking available out front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. This restaurant serves all of your favorites including ribs, chicken, brisket, wings, sandwiches, turkey and sausage. You will find a decent sized dining area and pretty large patio area out front of the restaurant. I placed a to-go order, online, and it was ready for me when I got there. I ordered the pork belly, brisket burned ends, baked beans and sweet pota... read more
I went to culinary school. Pros: The meat and beans are great, moist and flavorful. The coleslaw is lighter than most, it isn't drowned in mayonnaise. Cons: Next time I go I'll ask for the brussel sprouts to be a little less crispy. Ill avoid the mac and cheese, please consider adding more chipotle/paprika and breadcrumbs. The Texas toast is more like simple bread with a little butter.
