We had heard a lot of good things about Federalist Pig, so we made a point to stop in while we were in DC. The employee at the register was extremely helpful, took the time to answer our questions, and made it easy to decide what to order. One thing to know before you go is that the menu on the wall doesn't include prices, so it was a little difficult to know what everything cost while ordering. The food itself had great flavor, and everything we tried was well prepared. The sides were generous and were a highlight of the ... read more
I've been here a few times. I usually get the sausage links which are really tasty. This weekend I got green beans as well as the Oreo pudding. The green beans could use a little more seasoning, but the Oreo pudding was absolutely delicious. I'm not usually into desserts but the Oreo pudding is great!!!
Great place I had to check out while in DC. The staff was helpful as it was my first time there. The Texas flood sandwich was suggested. The dinning room and restroom were very clean. I loved the swamp cooler blowing full blast cause it was a scorcher of a day. The sandwich was delicious and flavorful and the beer.... Well come on it's cold beer! Yum!
I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. I wish I had come with a bigger appetite because the ribs and brisket looked great. Is the sandwich is any clue as to the quality of everything else, I'd say you can't go wrong at this place. Will 100 percent go back.
Admittedly, I ordered takeout so I can't speak to the service or ambiance of the restaurant itself. However! The food was delicious. We did an order out for the July 4 weekend and the food was ready in a timely manner, despite the holiday chaos. The ribs were fantastic and the brisket was tender. They also season their brussel sprouts quite well. Not my fav BBQ place's mac and cheese, but overall a good plate.
Love it. Enough said. Will be back. .,..............................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I placed an Uber Eats delivery. I chose the burnt ends, potato salad, and banana pudding. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing! The meat was juicy and the ends had a perfect amount of crisp. The potato salad had a nice tang; was made even more delicious was putting a bit of bbq sauce on it. The banana pudding was good--not great, but I still give them a solid 5 stars. Getting ready to place another order. ;)
STILL the best 'cue in the DMV and don't let nobody tell you different! Get a sampler platter, priority meats are brisket (order it moist), pulled pork, ribs, burnt ends. A little bit of vinegar sauce on the pulled pork tastes like happiness... otherwise DO NOT let me catch you putting sauce on these meats! I don't even want you ordering a sandwich, they're good but we're not here for bread and condiments. These meats are singing you a beautiful song, all you have to do is stop and listen!
Omg the pork ribs and burnt ends are to die for! So tender! I went with my friends (who were visiting from Texas) and they also loved it. There's a nice variety of sauces. Also, the baked beans were so yummy! The vibe inside is fun eating at a picnic table with your friends. Worth the visit! Service was great too. Friendly staff.
