My mother's needs could not be met by the home where she was previously and so she came to Fernhill House Care Home. I have seen a marked change in her. She is brighter, cleaner and happier. She is extremely well-fed and her daily sherry is much enjoyed too! She loves her daily jacuzzi or shower and she is clean and her hair is always tidy. I know we spoke this morning but just to confirm, you probably missed our lovely keep fit volunteer from mum's move-in to the time of review. Our volunteer does an exercise class once a fortnight. We have our therapist who has just returned from holiday who is in for 3 hours every Tuesday afternoon to do reiki, massage and sound therapy which is a very holistic approach. I visited Fernhill in July 2017. It exceeded my expectations of a Care Home for those wishing to enjoy living with exemplary care being offered in a beautiful setting. I stayed for lunch, which was of a very high standard with a range of options. I'm a few years away yet, but I know where I'd like to enjoy my later years.

I visited Fernhill House in July to see my friend. What an amazing home and nothing is too much trouble for anyone. I would love to move in myself - with a view of the lovely gardens. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family. I was too late to book in to see Gervase Phinn - but what a treat for those who live here.

Fabulous facilities, excellent staff who always interact and engage with the residents. Food and accommodation is also 5*, nothing is too much trouble for anyone at Fernhill House. The few weeks I have been visiting (2 or 3 times per week), without doubt, I have seen that the residents care is outstanding, it is a wonderful and safe place. 10/10.

Basic care needs are not being met for my grandmother. Dirty nails and teeth and every time we visit either her glasses, hearing aids, or both are not available so she cannot communicate with her family. This week my brother visited from Dublin with her great-grandchildren. They had not even considered charging her hearing aids to make sure her visit was fulfilling and her glasses were still lost. My father had been settled in Fernhill House for the first 6 weeks but after that things seemed to change. He has Alzheimer's and dementia and likes to wander as well as needing constant reminders to use the toilet. We were then advised he could not stay there and within a week, with little consultation (I accept it is difficult because of COVID) he was moved out. They advertise as a dementia placement but we as a family feel that they could not cope with our father.
