WHO WE ARE Growing up in Indiana is a privilege. Our love is growing unique restaurants in the Midwest. It’s our roots. It’s in our DNA. It’s tradition. It’s family, and it’s hard work. We come by it naturally though. After all, it started through the generations with our father & grandfather, Carl Fogelsong. A man who initially executed his vision and was eventually named to the Indiana Restaurant Hall of Fame. Since 1965 our business remains committed to its roots: love of community, friends and family, and a universa... read more

Because of our choice to eat outside (especially when hosting a guest) during the COVID 19 Pandemic, we chose the very attractive patio seating at Grindstone on the Monon. The day was hot, and our table was flooded with sunshine from which we could not escape. The fresh salad went quickly limp, and the ice in our drinks melted at record speed. We were uncomfortable. We envied those at the other end of the patio where shading was possible. Our experience would have received an overall 5 were we to have had a shaded spot. Food... read more
Asked for sweetener for my tea 3 times. Server reached diagonally across the table, with a plate of food dropping a steak knife into a cup of ranch dressing and into our friends lap. Brought me a to-go box while I was still eating... I'll stick with the Grindstones in Noblesville from now on!
Our second visit to Grindstone, perhaps our last. Our server was super nice and very apologetic about our dinner issues. Many mistakes made by the bar, kitchen and food order. Brought the wrong wine (ordered rose, received white), did not receive our baked potato or mac n cheese. Brought steak knives too late to eat the fillets while hot. One meal was not made and brought out late. By the end of the meal, and spending $170, everyone was frustrated.
Terrible experience overall. Very salty, dry and just pathetic. I do not recommend and i would not return there.
We had a wonderful server. That was the best part of the meal. We had a reservation for my birthday and the restaurant was essential empty. The sat us in the first table by the front door. My husband asked for a nice table and they moved us to the last table by the kitchen. The manager who was acting as host was rude and uncaring. Seemed like he absolutely didn’t want to be there. Food was mediocre. It came out very fast which means to me it was mostly just heated up. My lamb burger was undercooked and boring. I added tomato... read more
Bartender spent 10 minutes determining tips and didn’t offer us a drink. We made a reservation and they forgot we were on the list and never sat us for dinner.
Great environment, food was okay. Expected better at that price points. Service was also solid
Although we were greeted kindly at the door, it took our server a while to greet us at our table. She gave us a lot of good recommendations, but ultimately what we ordered was sub par. My order was incorrect not once, but twice. And the server was very flippant about getting it fixed. My wife’s salad had almost zero salad dressing, and she found a hair in the food. We had high hopes, but understand they just recently opened. Hope it gets better.
Food was not as good as the last time
