To start one of the guest had a hair in his sandwich. Not a good way for his first time visit. Also another guest had the broccoli and it was too salty. My wife and I have been to Grindstone many times and this has to be the worst experience we’ve had to date.
We used to love Grindstone, seems they changed ownership since our last visit 6 months ago. New smaller menu, different vibe and lousy service. Not sure why the change but we wont be back.
Service was poor, drinks were spilled on us and no napkins were brought, table was not clean, plates were not removed
This was our first visit to Grindstone and it was our wedding anniversary. Service was very good but the food was mediocre. The menu is mostly pub food but my husband likes prime rib. His prime rib was cooked just as he requested and he said the outermost portion was very good but more towards the inside was just okay flavor. Mine was Chicken Pesto Pasta and the chicken was on the overdone side and dry. The pesto sauce and pasta had an odd flavor. Ordered short ribs with Spicy Sauce on server's recommendation, but they delivered Korean style instead. We pointed this out when server came to check on us, and he went back to the kitchen. Explanation was they were out of what we ordered, but he would give us a dessert. Should have taken the short ribs off our bill, or at least given us 50% them. Didn't seem like they cared much.
Very uneven service, manager argued with one of our party over whether her steak was overdone. We went for Mother's Day with my wife, mother, and aunt. Several things were wrong with the order when it came out, including my mother's prime rib (ordered medium rare, received at least medium to medium-well). When she mentioned this to the manager, he assured her that her meat was "mid-rare" and then walked away. The atmosphere was just as expected sitting outside. However the food was not. When you are served a $10 steak and you were charged $22 for that steak it doesn’t make you happy. Not only was the steaks NOT what they should have been the mashed potatoes and vegetables were nothing to talk about either. Not a bad food place but, the quality of food does not stand up to the price of the food. Very disappointed birthday celebration for my husband.
The food was cold when it came out and had absolutely no flavor to it.
The fish was ok but the brisket was very dry/overcooked
