Will definitely not recommend this place- our dog was their patient for 1 year but we decided that it was time to move on to a better vet hospital. We have a dog that has an illness and need blood test once every 2 months or so. The vet never explained to us of any cheaper options and we never really questioned it either since we assumed that they will think of the dog's best interest. We started questioning about the procedure when we got the bills and all the unnecessary tests that they seemed were doing. We wanted anot... read more
I did keep using these guys, but now they've crossed the line. I brought a cat in for a rabies vaccine and was quoted a price of $29. When I got the bill, they added the cost of a "wellness exam" for $65, which I didn't ask for and the cat didn't need. (And the "exam" evidently consisted of the Vet looking over the cat and saying "she looks healthy") Adding insult to injury, they claimed exam was required by the state with rabies vaccine (not true--they just require Vet to administer the shot). Everywhere else I called ... read more
So we took our puppy to Highland animal hospital, and the staff was very good with him. However, about 4 days later he started defecating bloody and mucusy stool. Upon calling the Highland Animal Hospital, we were informed that his test results from the stool sample had tested positive for giardia, with a non-chalant, "Oh, nobody called you?" No one called, no one emailed us, and they definitely had all of that information. We could have spared our puppy four days of bloody, mucusy diarrhea and rectal bleeding if some one ha... read more
This place wins the Golden Fleece Award! I took my dog for a routine exam and shots and I was hosed! I was intimidated into allowing them to run every unnecessary test and giving every unnecessary vaccination and walked out of there with a big hole in my wallet. Forget the fact that they turned a simple visit into a major hosing, they obviously cared more about making money than they did about subjecting a healthy animal to a lot of trauma. There are plenty of other good practices around without your having to go through th... read more
This is probably a sufficient vet practice for routine care as any but it is a CONSUMER BEWARE experience. We brought our dog to Highland for his simple annual physical. We tried Highland when our longtime vet retired. As we left the examination area we discovered a huge bill including a fee of almost $170 for unnecessary blood tests, deer tick inoculation, standing water inoculation, an unpronounceable inoculation which we never could figure, fecal test, and other stuff. Our usual vet bill of about $150 now was more like... read more
