To Arnold M in Allston you could not be more wrong about everything single thing you said about Highland Animal Hospital. If you cannot afford to have a pet and have it taken care of properly then you shouldn't have one . . . period. And to try to get the bill down is ridiculous. When you leave there you know exactly how much your bill is, so why would you have left if you thought it was too high. I disagree with many of the reviewers here. I've brought both of my cats here on various occasions and have had to run several tests. The vets give their recommendations (and the reasons why!) and will give you a price quote if you ask. Never have they performed a blood test or any other exam that was unnecessary or without my permission, and the bill has ALWAYS been within about $20 of the estimated costs. This place has done wonders for the Prince Padro.They're into preventive medicine which we appreciate .
My dog gets super-anixous at the vet, and the entire staff at Highland Animal Hospital is very supportive, kind, and understanding with my dog. They are courteous, efficient, sympathetic, and simply awesome caregivers! Your pet won't be prescribed medication it doesn't need, unnecessary exams, or any other "upsells" ... they run an honest, top-notch facility, and I can't say enough good things about Highland Animal Hospital. Kudos especially to Dr. Riley Mahoney!
Highland Animal has been taking care of all my various pets for twenty years. The doctors are all excellent, especially Dr. Giles and Dr. Shepherd (the two original partners.) The vet techs are AMAZING. My dog is actually happy to come here - he runs right in wagging his tail and saying hello to everyone. Chris at the front desk is the BEST. I had to bring my pet rat here to be put to sleep. It was a really difficult decision for me to make and do, but everyone was so nice and helpful here. I really could not have had a better experience doing something so difficult. I am so thankful for the kindness that Highland Animal Hospital showed me and Violet at a really difficult time. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Very professional, warm staff who clearly love animals. Great care for our dog all around (grooming, boarding and general veterinary care).
This is the BEST animal hospital in MA. I have been a dog owner for most of my life, and have been to many different animal hospitals in Illinois and Massachusetts. The staff here is SUPERIOR. Every attention is given to pet AND owner. I have never met such professional and caring staff - from the techs to the docs. I've been bringing my 2 ragdolls here since they were baby kittens. I wanted a special place for my special babies and I got what I wanted. This place is very high end and very clean. It is never crowded and there is easy parking. They keep excellent records and my favorite vet always remembers my kittens and how they were doing the last time I brought them in.
