The care my pets receive at Highland Animal Hospital is unmatched! I love all the Vets but am an especially huge fan of Dr. Wolf!
I started bringing my dog Ren to Highland Animal Hospital somewhere between 1993-1994, and would not go anywhere else...Dr, Giles is awesome, as is the staff - from Front desk, to Vet Techs, and Maggie the office Manager - They always take the time to listen to any concerns, and never feel rushed. Unfortunately we had to put Ren down in 2009, and they were so kind. This review was prompted for a recent visit, yet the rating is for both that visit AND the past 16 years of extraordinary, empathetic and sometimes emergency services they have provided for my two dogs and six cats. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but worth every penny. I never have felt like they have recommended unnecessary tests; they have treated my pets as I believe they would have treated their own. And can I add that their boarding services were a god send.
This review is for my for recent visit to get my bunny's nails trimmed. The vet techs (two young women) who trimmed her nails were very sweet to my bunny, and they got the job done perfectly. They let me and my boyfriend go into the exam room and explained how best to hold our bunny for future trimmings. Thank you! We will be back to Highland Animal Hospital whenever in need of tech or vet services. They offer Saturday hours, which is fabulous. Excellent vets and assistants who deal with our rabbits and dumbo rats. The rat needed surgery and I couldn't believe how caring and best of all reasonably priced they were. Most vets don't even see these animals and they excelled. After a few bad experiences from the now extremely expensive Angel Memorial, who takes your pet hostage with your credit card, it was wonderful to find such a great place.
I am in utter shock. My dog usually flips out at the vet, and he knows when he's about to get his shots. He'll literally scream and yelp when he's being held by the tech/doctor, and even gets nervous if he sees a thermometer going near his butt. When I took him to Highland Animal Hospital, he was pretty calm. The tech held him so gently, and he didn't even feel the shots. He didn't even make a peep! The visit was quick and painless. Highland is expensive compared to other vets I have been to and I never seemed to see the same vet twice. I have since switched vets, but they are ok if you are in a pinch and can get an appointment. Just be ready to pay an up charge.
We've been going to Highland for almost ten years. They've always been spot on with diagnosis and treatment of our dog and two cats. Dr Scott has been a huge help with managing my cat's diabetes treatment. The reception desk s always friendly and efficient and all three of our pets are lucky to have such a caring and talented medical staff taking care of them. We Highly recommend Highland Animal Hospital.
To Arnold M in Allston you could not be more wrong about everything single thing you said about Highland Animal Hospital. If you cannot afford to have a pet and have it taken care of properly then you shouldn't have one . . . period. And to try to get the bill down is ridiculous. When you leave there you know exactly how much your bill is, so why would you have left if you thought it was too high.
