This place is great. Everyone, from the front desk to the technicians to the vets, is so friendly and takes an active interest in our two cats. They dote over them more than we do! Dr. Kennedy is also great--he's the only vet we've seen. He's very friendly, knowledgeable and comfortable to be around both for us and the cats. The one issue I have ever had is when they guilt tripped us about not brushing our cats' teeth every day. then charged us $14 for a toothbrush and toothpaste. It's great if you want to perform that s... read more
You are not going to find a better animal hospital!!! The doctors are beyond amazing, especially Dr. Giles. He is the most caring vet around. He cares just as much about the owner as he does the animals. I trust him completely with my dogs who are like children to me. I trust any of the doctors there but I have dealt primarily with Dr. Giles. The office staff are amazing and so helpful. They bend over backwards for you and your pet. The vet techs are very knowledgeable and caring. The groomer is fantastic. If you need to le... read more

I just moved to the Newton/Needham area and have been searching for a boarding facility that will take my dog and cat when I need to travel. I was really hoping that the boarding facility in a reputable hospital would have exactly what I'm looking for but unfortunately I would have to inform everyone that it would be a smart decision to choose elsewhere, as the man I spoke to last week, | believe his name was David or Daniel, made this facility sound like it was unfit for any animal. I called to inquire about the facility an... read more

Every time I come I wait over 30 minutes past my appointment. Not once have they been on time in the last year. The employees are lovely and the Vets knowledgeable but the wait time is unacceptable and unprofessional.

This review is for the front desk, not the vets. My dog got cut by his groomers and i wanted to put a cone on him so he doesn't lick his wound and make it worse. I know they sell them here since i bought one from here when he got neutered. Michelle answered the phone and i asked if they had cones. She asked me about 5-7 questions about my dog (here i am thinking why the heck does she need to know all of this before telling me yes or no) anyways. Finally she tells me they have them but he will need to go in and get fitted ... read more

We've been clients for six years and had an urgent care situation with our dog and they refused to slot us in. The receptionist was rude and aggressive (another review below also talks about Michele's bad attitude). She offer no constructive alternative. Other local vets would not see our dog since he is not their patient. We ended up having to go to an emergency vet hospital and had to pay three times what it should have cost. Very dissatisfied that this practice shows no respect to loyal customers. We will be looking to go... read more
I just called to get information about getting a microchip for my dog, and was "helped" by an associate called Michelle. She informed in a very rude tone that the they were booked until October, and even after I explained my case to her (we just moved in from out our the country and we're looking for advice on a few things), she didn't seem to care. All she could repeat was: sorry we're booked. She didn't even bother to offer an alternative or more information. On the front page of their website we can read "New Clients We... read more
Dr. Giles fed our senior Yorkshire terrier two different medications to prevent fleas, ticks, heart worms, and mosquito-related illnesses that each had diarrhea and vomiting as side effects without telling us about this risk. Our poor dog has been sick all day and losing a lot of fluids. He's been crying NONSTOP for the better part of the day and barely had an appetite. If we had known about the risks we either would have said no or we would've requested another form of prevention treatment. We're on our way to an emergency ... read more

We hope that Mickey is feeling better and is settled into his new home! While the flea, tick and heartworm medication we recommend for all of our dog patients does carry a very minimal and rare risk of vomiting and diarrhea, upon review of our notes and records from Mickey's visit, there were a few factors that could have contributed much more strongly to the reaction you describe. A long flight such as the one that Mickey underwent shortly before his visit to us, in addition to changing the type and brand of dog food upon a... read more
