Our dog is a shepherd. Collies and shepherds have genetic complications with certain heart worm medicines that have to be eaten as a pill. HCAH refused to let us buy medication anywhere but from them. That seems unethical, but more frustrating is that they do not stock the medication our dog should take. We were not told this when we had our first annual checkup with them. They refused to let us buy our medication from an online source. I took my dog here and the front office staff was not very helpful, relatively inexperienced, and kind of rude. The vets are well qualified, but they would do well for themselves to have a more experienced support staff who are knowledgeable about animal care. This being a premium establishment, I expected a little more professionalism for the cost of services rendered (senior dog annual checkup). Following up on a previous post. Since my post from a few weeks ago, I've received a nice follow up letter from Dr. Holcomb expressing his apologies for the service I received. His actions suggest that my one incident may have been more of an oversight than the norm. I do hope they get it turned around and get back to being customer focused clinic we started with several years ago.

We had spent thousands of dollars on vet and boarding here until things went wrong. Very, very wrong.... The first thing that tipped me off is that I was never allowed to see the boarding facilities.
