Our Sheltie, Raleigh, is an old lady. She will be 14 this coming month. We had been used to a familiar care giver coming in the home and spending the night with her when we were away when we lived in Phoenix. Having moved recently to Austin have not been able to find such a person in the Austin area. Another day care boarding place for dogs, recommended Hill Country for boarding her for a week. I love HCAH! I've been taking my oldest cat, Winnie, here for a few years...she isn't the most tolerable cat when it comes time to take her in but the staff here is so gentle and patient with her, they even call to check up on her after a visit and send cards on her birthday! My new kitten recently got into some lilies and had to stay overnight and I slept well knowing he was in the best care and when I went to pick him up I noticed they had cleaned his ears! My two labs have been coming here ever since they came home with me at 8 weeks old, 6+ years ago. They get all their regular care and checkups here, and I don't consider leaving them anywhere else for boarding. I know they are going to be well cared for and the staff is very communicative and attentive. I always get a follow up call and I feel like I am leaving my furry kids with friends.
We have used Hill Country Animal Hospital for our cat and dogs for over 10 years now and can highly recommend them. When our first two dogs reached the end of their very, long lives (15 and 16 years) and were beginning to suffer, the staff came to our home to help us peacefully euthanize them in comfortable surroundings. My lab, Halle, loves HCAH! We have taken her here since day 1 and have been pleased. The vets are great and are always very friendly. Every time Halle has gone to daycare she is completely exhausted and falls asleep before we even get home! We have boarded her for long weekends and have never had a problem- my only complaint is the time frame in which you can pick them up on Sunday- I think it's from 6:00-6:15?? Too short in my opinion and if you don't get to pick them up on Sunday, you have to wait until Monday. Overall, a ... read more
I love this vet hospital! When my old friend had to be put to sleep, the vet and staffwere so compassionate and caring during a very difficult time.I take our new dog to them and he has received excellent care. I even had to bring my 2 young boys with one time during an emergency visit and some of the staff watched them while i was with my dog. Love them!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about Hill Country Animal Hospital. My Lab has been going to daycare here for a few years and she loves it. She is a quiet, sweet Lab most of the time, but when I drop her off for daycare here - she barks excitedly until someone comes to get her and jumps halfway out the window. I have two scottish terriers. My eldest is a very very sensitive soul. One bad experience, and he is terrified of that place for the rest of his life. Since coming to Hill Country Animal Hospital for care and boarding, my sweet little old man pulls me across the parking lot and into the front door.
