My biggest issue with Hocon is the billing. They constantly increase the price and then adjust it after I confront them. They claim they bill the going rate and then adjust by the client. The scary part is I don't think they'd adjust it on they're own if I over paid and didn't bring it to they're attention my self. In short I think they rip people off.

I have never written a yelp review (good or bad) but my experience speaking with John this morning from this company was so awful I felt compelled to. I've never spoken to anyone so rude, condescending and just plain mean. I asked if he could service a gas wall furnace for me. He cut me off when I was speaking, told me to "get whoever installed it to fix it" and when I said that wasn't possible said "it'll cost you $286.63 for me to come out there and if I have to come back after YOU get the parts you need, it'll be $150 a... read more
Employees are rude and they're not knowledgeable. The house I purchased came with there propane tanks so I kept there service but I will be switching as soon as the contract is up next year. Prices go up drastically, and the delivery men are so rude. The customer service and prices are very disappointing.

Do NOT use Hocon. They are charging $6.78 per gallon of propane which is almost double the average price in Connecticut. The customer service is horrible, their billing is convoluted which leads to overcharging and they are difficult to work with. The upside is that the delivery guys are great and very efficient. However, the office staff and billing department overshadow the work being done out in the field. They are a RIP OFF. We ran out of propane over the weekend and charged $380 to come out, does not include the price of gas. The full tank delivery on the week day had a ridiculous price of $5.97 per gallon which is more than double the price of our heating oil. Now we will buy their tank and never use them again. Beware of them.
I would like to give no stars honestly. I've never written a review but the service here is so bad I honestly have to. They doubled our charge for two months in a row, like another reviewer said. When we called, they changed it back. They just were hoping we didn't notice? After that, they charged us double again the next month- this time claiming they delivered more gallons. Worst company ever! Lynnette is the account manager and never calls you back even though she promises you that she will. The gas tanks have leaks as I've had 2 replaced and blame you for not calling them before tank goes below 20% and then charge you an emergency fee. Go to Petro!!! You'll love me for it!!
Stay clear of this company! We live in Wolcott and have been using Hocon for over 20 years. We ran into an issue last year where they increased the price per gallon by over 2.00. We complained and they reduced the price. Another time we ran out of gas, we were told it was because they did not know we had a gas fireplace on our porch, which we had told them. We have used over a dozen supplier and service providers in the 20 years we have lived in Wilton. Hocon is by far the worst and most unethical! For example, after being with them for 14 years my wife was looking at the bill and they had raised our price for propane from $2.50/gallon to $4.10/gallon without any notification, This happened at a time when the market price of propane actually declined.
