Customer service are rude, unhelpful and useless... They do nothing but rip people off, never return calls and let your house without services.

Follow up on my previous review ( although it is " not recommended" by Yelp) Received invoice for the removal of my tank on9/5/14 showing I am due a $299 credit. It's 11/10/14 so I call finally.... They will have to "check with corporate" to see why I have not received my refund. One more example of terrible customer service...

STAY AWAY from HOCON!!! They will nickel and dime you. I was with HOCON for a few years, then all of a sudden I noticed a ridiculous increase in my propane bill. I called them and was told the price increase is across the entire US and there is nothing they can do. Now this may be true, but how come others around my area are charging way less? While HOCON was charging $4.2 gallon, others were charging between $2 - $3. The highest I found was $3.5 but nothing over $4.2. So I tried to reason with HOCON over the phone and once ... read more

Horrible customer service. Paid bill on time but was left with no gas OFTEN and even in the winter!!!!!! Blamed their negligence on me. They have a fee to cancel service, I refused to pay. I've seriously never dealt with worse human beings in my life. I'd rather have a fire pit and die of smoke inhalation than deal with these miscreants ever again.

Hocon has been overcharging me for years because I use propane for a fireplace and not whole home heating. This was expected, but not at 3 time the going rate. I cancelled my account, but I don't think they care; not a big enough user. Bottom of my list as a supplier.

This is one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. They truly just don't care. I must have called at least 20 times over the last 5 days trying to get service and was promised twice that 'someone will be out there by the end of the day' - when I wasn't rudely being told that 'you'll just have to wait'. Lies or rudeness, take your pick. Finally I called another service provider (Modern Gas) and within the same day was serviced. Hocon is a true Hall of Shame honoree. Absolutely horrible.

Do not use Hocon for any of your propane needs. Not only do they over charge per gallon and tack on a ton of fees for every delivery, they trick you into signing a 5 year contract that they tell you nothing about. The service guys are actually very good and all of them I've dealt with were very friendly and nice. The office and management are a different story though. They are constantly screwing up billing and sending you bills even when there is a credit on your account and you've paid. You really have to be on top of the... read more

Had nothing but trouble. I wanted to install a propane fireplace in my home. The salesman took days to call me back, then never showed up for out first appointment. I waited from October until January for the fireplace to be installed. I finally had to call to speak with manager to get an installation appointment. But, the installation crew never showed (and I had taken the day off from work). Yeah, you want to AVOID THIS PLACE. We ran out of gas on Monday, so I called and asked when we could get filled up again. The lady on the phone told me I would have to wait until the following Wednesday because there was "no one in our area". Okay, first off, Hocon is fifteen minutes away from my place. Second, It is 30 degrees here at night now. We are going to be spending the next week without heat or hot water.
